Juice Wireless Scores $2.3M From Qualcomm, 21Ventures
Los Angeles-based Juice Wireless has raised $2.3M in a strategic round, the firm told socalTECH Tuesday, pulling in new investor Qualcomm along with existing investor 21 Ventures. Nick Desai, Chairman of Juice Wireless, said in an interview Tuesday that the funding will go towards its strategy of focusing on carrier-based distribution, as it comes close to securing some carrier deals. Ogilvy, SEMDirector In Alliance
San Diego-based search engine marketing software firm SEMDirector and marketing firm Ogilvy said today that Neo@Ogilvy, The Ogilvy Group's digital and direct media firm, and SEMDirector are in a global alliance. The firm said that Neo@Ogilvy will leverage SEMDirector's technologies as part of its client search programs. Xirrus Scores Wi-Fi Win
Westlake Village-based Xirrus, a provider of Wi-Fi networking hardware, said today that its products have been deployed at a hotel in Vernal, Utah. Xirrus said that the Best Western Antlers Hotel in Vernal, Utah, has deployed its equipment to provide Wi-Fi access to all of its guests. The 99-room hotel tapped Xirrus after two previous Wi-Fi installations failed. Xirrus is venture backed by August Capital and U.S. Venture Partners.

Motorola, Avery Dennison In RFID Pact
Pasadena-based Avery Dennison and Motorola announced today that Avery Dennison's RFID division will supply its RFID tags to Motorola, as part of a new push to speed RFID deployment in the market. Motorola said it will use Avery Dennison's EPCglobal Gen 2 RFID tags, starting in the second half of 2007. Motorola provides RFID handheld readers, fixed RFID readers, and other RFID systems to its customers. Shopzilla Launches Affiliate Program
Los Angeles-based Shopzilla has launched a new affiliate program, the firm said today, as it looks to syndicate its online advertising for web content publishers. Shopzilla said that it will enable website publishers and affiliates to integrate contextual links and banners to its catalog of products. The firm said that the program is geared toward specialty deal sites, shopping bloggers, and product review sites. Ixia Rolls New Test Product
Calabasas-based Ixia, a provider of network testing systems, said today that it has launched a new test platform in an ultra-high density chassis. The firm's new Optixia XM2 is used by manufacturers and test engineers to test IP networking. The high density system provides all of Ixia's test capabilities in a smaller form factor, and is fully backward compatible with the firm's existing systems and software.

Melissa Data Partners For Data Accuracy
Rancho Santa Margarita-based Melissa Data said today that it has integrated its data quality tools with CoSort, a data manipulation and management software package from Innovative Routines International. The firm said that the integration allows companies to use Melissa Data's data quality libraries with Cosort's data manipulation software. Melissa Data provides address and phone verification and postal encoding products.
