introNetworks Raises $2.7M
Santa Barbara-based introNetworks, a firm which develops online networking tools for companies, said Wednesdya that it has raised $2.7M in a Series A funding. The round came from Adobe Systems and also included other strategic investors. The company said that the funding will go toward expanding the firm's platform. introNetworks develops a visual tool used to match people with similar interests, for connecting people at conferences or within a company.

Demand Media Launches ME.TV
Santa Monica-based Demand Media, the new media firm headed by ex-MySpace chairman Richard Rosenblatt, said today that it has rolled out a new site that allows anyone to create their own video-centric websites. The new service, at www.me.tv, allows anyone to purchase a .tv domain name and host videos and social networking features. The new service allows anyone to create their own website video "channels" and includes built in blog, message board, and social networking features.

Digirad Acquires Ultrascan
Poway-based Digirad said Wednesday morning that it has acquired Ultrascan, a provider of mobile ultrasound and nuclear medicine services, in a deal worth $7.25M in cash plus acquisition of $1.5M in debt. Digirad is a manufacturer of solid state cameras used for cardiovascular imaging, for physician offices and hospitals. The deal also includes up to $3.85M in cash and stock based on earning milestones. Ultrascan operates a fleet of 32 mobile ultrasound units used by physicians and hospitals in G (More info...)

Citysearch Adds Video
West Hollywood-based Citysearch has added a new video feature on the firm's local business guide, saying today that it has tapped TurnHere to create videos of local businesses for the site. The new video feature includes video tours of restaurants and stores. The company also said it has enhanced its search and browse capabilities, and added personalized suggestions based on a user's recent search activity. Citysearch is an operating unit of IAC.

CRG West Buys New Data Centers
Los Angeles-based CRG West, which operates the One Wilshire colocation data center in Los Angeles, said today that it has acquired two new carrier-neutral data centers in Chicago and Boston. The firm announced the acquisitions with private equity firm The Carlyle Group, which is the owner of CRG West. The expansion brings the company's total locations to eight, including existing property in Los Angeles, San Jose, Miami, and Washington, D.C.

Reunion.com Taps Wink For People Search
Los Angeles-based Reunion.com announced today that it is in a strategic partnership with Wink, a venture backed search engine for online profiles. Reunion.com said that througha multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement, its members will have access to Wink's people profiles. Wink operates an online search engine for searching blogs and social networking web sites. Reunion.com operates an online web site focused on reconnecting old friends and classmates.

Gemstar-TV Guide In Deal With Verizon
Los Angeles-based Gemstar-TV Guide International announced today that it is in a patent license agreement with Verizon, covering program guides for Verizon's FiOS TV Service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Gemstar said that the agreement covers patent rights for interactive program guides and related technology.
