Thermark Adds Capital, Appoints New CEO
Los Angeles-based TherMark Holdings announced today that it appointed a new President and CEO, Joel Assaraf, and also disclosed it has raised an additional $850,000 in funding. According to TherMark the additional capital came in March of this year. The company develops laser marking technology used for industrial marking on metals, ceramics, and other surfaces. HealthSport Acquires InnoZen For $40M
HealthSport, a developer of branded nutrional supplements, said Monday that it has completed its acquisition of Woodland Hills-absed InnoZen, a developer of edible film strips for delivering drugs. The deal was worth $40M in stock. InnoZen's products are used in edible film strips, including Chloraseptic Sore Throat Relief Strips. InnoZen received $2.94M in angel funding from the Tech Coast Angels in June of 2005.

Intercasting Raises $12M
San Diego-based Intercasting, a firm developing mobile social networking applications, has raised $12M in a Series B funding, the company said today. The round was led by Venrock, and also included prior investors Avalon Ventures and Masthead Venture Partners. Intercasting said the round will go towards the firm's expansion strategy. Interacting develops Rabble, a social networking application for cell phones.

Bid4Spots Expands Into The United Kingdom
Bid4Spots, the Encino-based radio reverse auction marketplace, announced Tuesday that it has launched a new marketplace serving the United Kingdom. Bid4Spots said that the firm's UK site officially launches in Q3 of this year, and will hold weekly auctions on radio airtime. The firm's UK venture wil be headed by Paul Mitchard, a UK radio advertising veteran. ClipBlast Taps Former CinemaNow Exec For Business Development
Agoura Hills-based ClipBlast disclosed this morning that it has tapped former CinemaNow co-founder Bruce D. Eisen to manage the firm's business development. The firm, which provides an online service for web video searching and navigation, said that Eisen will help it grow its relationships with content providers, advertisers, and technology companies. Eisen is currently president of Digital Advisors, an advisory firm.

United Online Launches DSL Service
Woodland Hills-based United Online has launched a new DSL service, Juno DSL, as the firm extends its DSL marketing efforts. United Online said that its new Juno Digital Subscriber Line broadband Internet service is now available in parts of 34 states and Washington DC. The new brand is targeted at the firm's existing Juno dialup subscribers. Xirrus Gets Interoperability Cert
Westlake Village-based Xirrus, a provider of Wi-fi networking equipment, announced today that its family of products has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. The new certification covers basic Wi-Fi operationality using 802.11a/b/g, and also includes the WPA and WPA2 security protocols. Xirrus develops Wi-Fi equipment which provides higher density and bandwidth of wireless connections, which it is targeting and companies needing higher throughput and greater reliability of Wi-Fi connectivity.

Fonality, PC Mall In Partnership
Los Angeles-based Fonality has signed a partnership with catalog retailer PC Mall, to distribute the firm's PBX phone product. Fonality said that PC Mall will distribute the firm's PBXtra product to business, government, educational institutions customers. Fonality is a developer of an open-source based PBX phone system, which runs on a PC platform instead of expensive dedicated PBX hardware. The firm's software is based on the Asterisk open source PBX project.
