Pegasus Biologics Scores $20M
Irvine-based Pegasus Biologics has raised $20M in a Series C round, the company said Thursday. The round was led by ONSET Ventures, and also included prior investors Three Arch Partners, Frazier Healthcare Ventures, and new investor Affinity Capital Management. Pegasus Biologics is developing bioimplants for soft tissue repair and for care of wounds due to diabetic ulcers. The firm said the funding brings it total investment to just under $32M.

THQ Buys Universomo
Agoura Hills-based THQ has acquired mobile game developer Universomo Ltd, the company said Wednesday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Universomo is based in Finland, and develops cross-platform wireless games. THQ said the first titles scheduled to release after the acquisition are WWE and Stuntman: Ignition. According to THQ, Universomo's game development environment supports Brew, CDMA, GSM, Java, and other handsets.

Hilliard Joins Demand Media
Charles S. Hilliard, former President and CFO of United Online, has joined Demand Media as its President and CFO. Demand Media said Wednesday that Hilliard will join the firm effective June 1st. Hilliard has been CFO of United Online since 1999, and has also served as President since May of 2006. Separately, United Online said that Neil P. Presidential Candidates Court MySpace
Los Angeles-based MySpace said today that it plans to host a Presidential Town Hall series which will bring a number of presidential candidates to college campuses. The online social networking web site said that it will provide a one hour dialogue between a presidential candidates and the MySpace community. Candidates participating in the town hall include Sen. DATAllegro Appoints CFO
Aliso Viejo-based DATAllegro said earlier this week that it has appointed Steve DeSantis as CFO. DATAllegro develops data warehousing appliances used for the business intelligence market. DeSantis has previously served as CFO of TCI Solutions, and applications software company. DATAllegro also said that it is moving to a larger facilities in Aliso Viejo due to growth.
