Accordent Gets Microsoft Cert
El Segundo-based Accordent Technologies, which develops products for online webcasting and media presentations, announced Thursday that the firm has received certification from Microsoft. The firm, whose software is used by enterprise and public sector organizations for rich media communications, said it attained Gold Certified Partner status. Accordent's software is used by companies for training, multimedia presentation, and webcasts.

Vadnais Replaces Zarley At ValueClick
Westlake Village-based ValueClick said Thursday morning that its board of directors has elected Tom A. Vadnais as the company's CEO, replacing James Zarley, the firm's chief executive since 1999. Zarley will become executive chairman of the company's board of directors. Vadnais was most recently the firm's President, after joining the firm in 2001 with the acquisition of Mediaplex. Vadnais is also a member of ValueClick's board of directors.

Broadcom Expands In Taipei
Irvine-based semiconductor firm Broadcom is expanding its design center in Taipei, Taiwan, the firm disclosed Thursday, in what it calls a "significant expansion" of a cellular design center. The center, which helps customers develop Microsoft Windows Mobile-based smart phones based on Broadcom chipsets, is located in the Xin-Yi district of Taipei City. MySpace, The Globe.com Settle Lawsuit
Los Angeles-based MySpace and The Globe.com announced today that the two have settled a spam lawsuit that MySpace had filed against The Globe.com. The lawsuit, which was filed by June 2006, contended that The Globe had violated California and federal law by sending 400,000 unsolicited email messages to MySpace users, in violation of the CAN-SPAM Act and the California Business & Professions Code Section 17529.5. Userplane Adds Revenue Share Program
Santa Monica-based Userplane has rolled out a new revenue sharing program targeted at web publishers. The firm said this morning that it will allow publishers to use its instant messaging, web chat, and other widgets in exchange for revenue share on advertising. The new program pays publishers who use Userplane's community tools via PayPal. Interventional Spine Raises $24M
Irvine-based Interventional Spine has raised $24M in a Series C financing, the firm disclosed today. The lead investor in the funding was Ascension Health Ventures, LLC, and also included Wexford Capital LLC, HBM BioVentures, Rock Creek Partners and affiliates, The MedFocus Fund, LLC, and a group of current investors. Interventional Spine is developing medical devices for the treatment of Degenerative Disc Disease and other spinal conditions.
