Slacker Raises $40M
San Diego-based Slacker, the online and Wi-Fi enabled social music company, has raised $40M, according to a report published by Private Equity Week. Slacker operates an online service that allows you to create personalized Internet radio stations, and also is creating a Wi-Fi enabled mobile music player connected to the firm's services. The Series B funding came from Centennial Ventures, Rho Ventures, as well as prior investors Mission Ventures and Sevin Rosen Funds.

Oversee.net Buys SnapNames
Los Angeles-based Oversee.net announced Friday morning that it is acquiring SnapNames, operator of a business that manages expired and deleting domain names. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. SnapNames has been around since 2000, and provides technology that allows buyers to pre-order currently registered domain names when they expire. The acquisition is expected to close in June. Advanced BioHealing Adds $4.5M To Series C
La Jolla-based Advanced Biohealing, which is developing a treatment for full-thickness diabetic foot ulcers, said Thursday that it has raised an additional $4.5M in its Series C round. The additional capital came from Safeguard Scientifics and CDIB BioScience Ventures. The new funding brings the total raised in the firm's Series C to $30M. The initial tranche of the Series C was announced in February. The company's total raised is now over $40M.

MTI Technology Gets Delisted
Irvine-based MTI Technology announced Thursday afternoon that the firm has received notification from the NASDAQ that the company's securities have been delisted, effective this morning. The firm said that the delisting was the result of the company's failure to meet minimum stockholders' equity for continued listing. MTI, which is focused on integration and resale of storage products, said that it will trade on the pink sheets.

eFax Adds Additional Language Support
Los Angeles-based Internet faxing and voice messaging firm J2 Global Communications announced this week that it has added support for Italian, Portuguese, and Polish to the firm's list of supported languages. The company said that the new language support for its eFax internet Fax service comes as part of an effort to expand product support in key markets worldwide. j2 Global has recently been rolling out an expansion of localized versions of its eFax service across Europe.

Transcepta Creates Online Invoicing Community
Aliso Viejo-based Transcepta, an angel-backed firm which has received funding from the Tech Coast Angels, said this week that it has created an online community focused on allowing buyers and vendors to exchange electronic invoices. The company develops software for electronic invoicing to eliminate the need for paper invoices. ToutVirtual Adds IT Management Software
Carlsbad-based ToutVirtual has rolled out a product targeted at the server virtualization market, saying Wednesday that it has added VirtualIQ Pro, a new virtualization management suite. DivX Expands Exec Team
San Diego-based DivX has expanded its executive team, saying this week that Pamela Thompson Johnston has joined the company as Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing. Johnston was most recently at Yahoo!, where she was Regional Vice President of Yahoo!'s Emerging Marketings. Johnston will report to Kevin Hell, DivX President. Johnston has also served at Level 3 Communications, Sameday Technologies, Pulsepoint Communications, and Motorola.

Guidance Software Takes On Mobile Devices
Pasadena-based Guidance Software announced earlier this week that it has rolled out a new software package for forensic analysis of mobile phones and other mobile devices. The firm said that its new Neutrino mobile acquisition product combines a wireless signal blocking device to allow investigators to extract data from a variety of mobile devices. ClearMesh Execs Look For Buyer
Suresh Nihalani, CEO of Pasadena-based ClearMesh, spoke to socalTECH Thursday and confirmed that the company curtailed its operations considerably last week, and is now looking for partners willing to carry the firm's technology to market.
