Teleflip Scores $1M In Debt
Los Angeles-based Teleflip, an operator of a service that allows cell phone customers to send and receive email with any cell phone, has raised $1M in debt financing. The funding came from Hercules Technology Growth Partners. According to Teleflip's CEO, Tony Davis, Teleflip raised the funding to support the growth of the firm's technology and to accelerate its growth plans in the US, along with international expansion into Canada this summer and beyond. Sonos Names Former Sony Exec As President, COO
Santa Barbara-based Sonos, a developer of wireless music systems, said today that it has appointed Phil Abram as President and Chief Operating Officer. Abram was most recently at Sony Electronics, where he was Vice President and Senior General Manager of the electronic giant's television products division. Abram has also served at Sharp Electronics and Eastman Kodak. Abram will join the firm at its Santa Barbara headquarters. K2 Network Raises $16M
Irvine-based K2 Network, a publisher of online games, said this morning that it has raised $16M in a Series B funding round. The investment was led by Intel Capital, and also included Greycroft Partners, Khosla Ventures, and Novel TM Ventures, along with existing investors BV Capital and mvp Capital. K2 Network develops massively multiplayer online games.

Cyber-Rain Gets Investment
Los Angeles-based Cyber-Rain, a firm that develops technology that uses the Internet to wirelessly control irrigation systems, has received a round of venture capital from Momventum Venture Management. Amount of the investment was not disclosed. As part of the funding, Momventum Venture Management venture partner Jonathan Niednagel has become Cyber-Rain's interim CEO. D3 Technologies Acquired By Aerospace Firm
San Diego-based D3 Technologies, a design and engineering services firm for the aerospace industry, has been acquired. St. Louis-based LMI Aerospace said it acquired the firm for $65M in cash. D3 had revenues in 2006 of $64M. D3 provides structure and sub-structure design work for commercial, business, and military aircraft manufacturers. Active Network Adds Customers
San Diego-based The Active Network, said today that it has added a number of countines as customers of the firm's software technology and marketing products. Active said that it has added Santa Clara, CA; Nassau, Long Island, NY; the city of Pittburgh, PA, and Glendale, CA have selected the firm for municipal marketing and sponsorship programs. Financial size of the deals were not announced. The counties and cities are using a solution that from Active for managing corporate sponsorships.

Xirrus Deploys Arrays At Transit Agency
Westlake Village-based Xirrus, a provider of Wi-Fi network equipment, said today that its products have been deployed by a transit agency located in Pierce County, Washington. Size of the deal was not disclosed. Xirrus said that the win included the use of its arrays across three buildings in the Pierce Transit maintenance, training center, and headquarters. Xirrus is a manufacturer of Wi-Fi arrays used to deploy wireless networks, used as an alternative to wireless access points.

Horizon Technology Opens LCD Integration Facilities
Horizon Technology, a Lake Forest-based integrator that designs, engineers, and integrates LCD and other displays, said Monday that it has opened a new facility in Lake Forest. The new facility include a new Class 10,000 clean room, display integration, test and lab areas. The firm provides integration of storage and display products, including LCD touch screen displays, LCD kits, LCD open frames, controller boards, and other products.
