Accutrac Acquired By Iron Mountain
Boston, Mass.-based storage services provider Iron Mountain said earlier this week that it has acquired Irvine-based Accutrac Software, a provider of records management and professional services. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Iron Mountain said it is acquiring Accutrac to enhance its records management capabilities. Accutrac was founded in 1997, and serves the corporate, legal, energy, and other industries with its compliance and management software.

Western Digital Acquires Komag For $1B
Lake Forest-based Western Digital Corporation said Thursday afternoon that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire Komag, Incorporated, a supplier of thin-film disks for the disk drive industry. Western Digital said it will pay $1B in cash for the firm, worth $32.25 in cash per share of Komag's stock. According to Western Digital, the acquisition of Komag will strengthen the firm's position as a hard drive maker. RoyaltyShare Acquires Musicalc
San Diego-based RoyaltyShare, a provider of digital music royalty tracking services, said today that it has acquired Musicalc, a UK-based provider of royalty accounting software for the music industry. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. RoyaltyShare said the acquisition would expand its European presence. MusicCalc was established in 1982, as a developer of PC-based software. MySpace Officially Launches TV Platform
Los Angeles-based social networking website MySpace said Thursday that it has officially launched a beta of its video site, MySpaceTV. The new site, at www.myspacetv.com, will allow MySpace users to view, create, and share videos on the site. MySpace introduced a new user interface with the launch, and also said that localized versions of the service are available in seven different languages. The new site goes head to head with Google's YouTube video sharing service.

MatchActivity Becomes Wannago.com
Los Angeles-based online dating site MatchActivity has become wannago.com, and is now focusing on creating a social networking site focused on sharing activities and events, according to Yoni Avital, the firm's founder and CEO. The angel funded startup, which raised a small round in January and is still fundraising, is planning to relaunch its site towards the end of July.

Eisner Announces New Web Series
Beverly Hills-based Vuguru, the online entertainment studio headed by Michael Eisener, said Wednesday that it has signed Dinosaur Diorama Productions, producers of the web series "The Burg," to produce a new original series. Dinosaur Diorama will product "The All-For-Nots," which will focus on a fictional indie rock band. The series will be the second original series for Vuguru, which recently premiered "Prom Queen" a web based new media series. Vuguru is funded by Eisner's The Tornante Company, (More info...)

Mentor Acquires Perouse Plastie
Santa Barbara-based Mentor Corporation said today that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire Perouse Plastie SAS, a French medical device company, in a deal worth 42M euros (approximately $56.5M US). The acquisition is expected to close in July. Perouse is a manufacturer and distributor of silicone gel breast implants. Mentor Corporation is a supplier of medical products for the aesthetics market.

Arrowhead Moves To NASDAQ Global Market
Pasadena-based Arrowhead Research Corp., which commercializes nanotechnology products, said today that it has been upgraded to the NASDAQ Global Market, effective Friday. Arrowhead develops nanotechnology products, including anti-cancer drugs, RNAi therapeutics, electronics, and compound semiconductors, based on research it licenses from universities. Arrowhead will trade under its current symbol, ARWR.

Vitesse Completes Restructuring Engagement

San Diego-based BidShift, a provider of online software used for healthcare staffing, has signed on North Carolina's Thomasville Medical Center as a customer. BidShift said that the hospital will offer its services to allow its employees to bid for open nursing shifts. Occam Signs Tennesee Telecom Firm
Santa Barbara-based OCcam Networks, a provider of IP connectivity equipment for the telecommunications industry, said Friday that it has signed on Bledsoe Telephone Cooperative, a telecommunications provider in Tennesee.
