Semiconductor Group Appoints Decker As Chairman
Newport Beach-based Conexant's Dwight Decker has been appointed as Chairman of the FSA, an industry group focused on fabless semiconductor firms. The FSA said that Dr. Decker will further the FSA's strategic direction and execute on the Association's vision. Decker has previously served as Chairman and CEO of Conexant, and also served at both Rockwell International and Rockwell Semiconductor Systems. Interneer Appoints VPs
Los Angeles-based Interneer said Monday that it has appointed two new vice presidents. The firm has added Jack Karabees as Vice President of Sales, and Patricia Spencer as Vice President of Marketing. Karabees joins the firm from Hudson Capital; he has also served at Katalyst Securities, eLabor, and Data Net Corporation. Amgen Completes Alantos Acquisition
Thousand Oaks-based Amgen said Monday afternoon that it has closed its acquisition of Alantos. Alantos is developing drugs for the treatment diabetes and inflammatory diseases. The deal was worth $300M in cash, and was originally announced in early June. Alantos is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Pasadena-based myShape, an online clothing shopping firm, announced today that it has closed a Series B round of funding led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Arkeia Software Lands $3M In Series B
Carlsbad-based Arkeia Software announced today that it has received $3M in a Series B equity funding round, from SPEF Ventures (Banque Populaire) and Credit Agricole private equity. Arkeia Software is a provider of backup and data protection software for the SMB and enterprise market. Arkeia said that the new funding will go towards expanding product research and towards it operations. DJO Acquired By ReAble Therapeutics
San Diego-based DJO Incorporated, a maker of orthopedic rehabilitation and pain management products, and Austin, Texas-based ReAble Therapeutics, said today that ReAble will acquire DJO in a $1.6B merger. An affiliate of ReAble will acquire all of the outstanding shares of DJO for $50.25 per share, in a deal that will be funded by private equity firm The Blackstone Group. Blackstone is the controlling shareholder of ReAble. ReAble Therapeutics provides orthopedic medical devices.

DynaPump Raises $12M
Northridge-based DynaPump, a manufacturer of equipment for the oil and gas industry, said today that it has raised $12M in a Series C round of equity financing. The round of convertible preferred equity financing came from DFJ Element, which led the round, along with NGP Energy Technology Partners and Chevron Technology Ventures. ValueClick Acquires MeziMedia
Westlake Village-based ValueClick announced this morning that it has agreed to buy Los Angeles-based MeziMedia, operator of the Smarter.com and CouponMountain.com comparison shopping web sites. The deal is worth approximately $100M in cash, plus earn out. According to ValueClick, depending on revenue performance, the deal could be worth as much as $352M in cash.
