FastSpring Signs CD Provider
Santa Barbara-based FastSpring, a startup developing e-commerce payment and merchandising software for companies that sell downloadable products, has signed on a provider of on-demand CDs. FastSpring has selected SwiftCD, a company that creates CDs on demand, to provide end users with a physical backup of products ordered with the company's service. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. FastSpring is developing a service that allows companies to sell downloadable software.

Novocell Raises $25M
San Diego-based Novocell said Monday that it has closed on $25M in Series C financing. The round came from Sanderling Ventures, Asset Management Company, Pacific Horizon Ventures, and Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation. Johnson & Johnson led the round. Novocell is developing stem cell engineering technology, and is focusing on treatments for diabetes and cancer. LeisureLink Connects To Pegasus
Pasadena-based LeisureLink said today that it has signed an agreement with Pegasus Solutions Inc., to add its vacation lodging listings to the Pegasus distribution platform. Pegasus operates a network which connects travel providers with distributors, and allows them to book reservations. LeisureLink said that the agreement with Pegasus allows the firm to reach independent Web sites they would normally never reach. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Oversee.net Acquires Domain Portfolios
Los Angeles-based online marketer and domain name firm Oversee.net said today that it acquired over $7M in domain portfolios in May. The firm said that it acquired a total of 66 domain portfolios from domain name owners, as part of an accelerated acquisition of domain names. Oversee said that the goal of the acquisitions is to accelerate and grow the firm's domain services business. Intercasting Ties Into Sprint
San Diego-based Intercasting, which operates the Rabble.com mobile social networking web site, said today that it has made its mobile social networking platform available on Sprint phones. The firm's solution, named Anthem, enables wireless carriers to develop their own social networking web sites for their mobile customers. Strix Network Goes Live In Mass.
Westlake Village-based Strix Systems, a developer of mesh networking equipment for the wireless market, has rolled out a muni Wi-Fi network in Brookline, Massachusetts. Strix said Monday that the network is being deployed by Brookline along with Galaxy Internet Services. The new network will provide both municipal and public safety services to the city of Brookline along with public Wi-Fi access.
