Novatel Announces HSUPA Modem
San Diego-based wireless equipment provider Novatel Wireless announced a new wireless modem Wednesday. Novatel announced a new USB, HSUPA Mobile Broadband modem, which connects PC users to HSPA and EDGE/GPRS networks. The device connects users via a wireless phone connection to the Internet. The new Ovation MC950D device is based on the HSUPA standard, which supports up to 7.2 Mbps downlink and 2.1 Mbps uplink. Digital Performance Links Into Offroad, Recycler
Long Beach-based Digital Performance, a provider of an online vehicle parts database and other information, announced Wednesday that Offroad.com, and Recycler.com, two publications focused on offroad vehicles and used cars, has begun carrying the firm's car and truck shopping guides. Digital Performance said that it will provide its catalog of car and truck performance parts, with links to parts information and retailers who sell those parts. Ablation Frontiers Adds $12.8M
Carlsbad-based Ablation Frontiers, a medical device firm developing treatments for irregular heart rhythms, said last night that it has closed $21.8M in a Series C financing. The round was led by Novartis Venture Fund, and also included new investors Affinity Ventures, Hexagon Investments, and Trellis Health Ventures. Revver Adds CPM Advertising
Los Angeles-based online video sharing web site Revver said Tuesday evening that it is adding new, impression-based advertising products available to its advertisers and content owners this month. The new advertising options, which includes pre-roll and post-roll video ads, come as an expansion on the firm's current cost-per-click advertising. Teresis Launches Online Video Management Software
Santa Ana-based Teresis Media Management, a developer of software for managing video production assets, said today that it has launched an online version of its software. The firm, which is backed by the Tech Coast Angels and Pasadena Angels, said that the new software-as-a-service offering is targeted at producers of films and television shows. The online software offers features such as ability to create scripts and storyboards, edit and search of footage, and other features.

CinemaNow Upgrades Video Download Software
Marina Del Rey-based CinemaNow, a provider of Internet-based, video on demand download services, said today that it has upgraded the firm's "Media Manager", the software used to manage downloading and playback of its video content. Kyriba Signs ExpressJet
San Diego-based Kyriba, a provider of web-based cash and treasury management software, announced Wednesday that ExpressJet Airlines has selected the firm's cash and treasury management products. ExpressJet will use Kyriba's web-based cash and treasury management solutions to manage its bank balances, payments, cash forecasting, and other financials. Size of the win was not disclosed. Kyriba is a venture-backed firm focused on cash and financial management.

Gemstar-TV Guide Extends Mitsubishi License
Los Angeles-based Gemstar-TV Guide International said today that it has amended a licensing agreement it has with Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, to provide the electronics manufacturer with its interactive television program guides. Gemstar said that it will offer its latest interactive program guide product, "TV Guide Daily" into selected Mitsubishi digital televisions in the U.S. market.
