V-Enable Scores Win With MetroPCS
San Diego-based V-Enable has scored a win with mobile phone service provider MetroPCS, and is powering a new unlimited, 411 service for MetroPCS subscribers. The new service, announced Thursday by MetroPCS Communications, allows consumers to access unlimited directory assistance without additional charges. MetroPCS said that other wireless service providers charge as much as $2 for each directory assistance request. Buzznet Links With Mandy Moore
Los Angeles-based social networking web site Buzznet said earlier this week that it has linked up with actress and singer Mandy Moore. The firm said that Mandy Moore has created a profile on the site where she will personally share behind-the-scenes photos and video shots from her nationwide tour. According to Buzznet, Moore will use a phone to capture photos and video which will be posted to her profile on the site. Buzznet is backed by Anthem Ventures and Redpoint Ventures.

MySpace, MTV Team On Presidential Discussions
MySpace and MTV said this morning that the two have partnered on a series of events featuring Presidential candidates and their users. The two firms said that they will broadcast discussions between college students and all of the major Republican and Democratic Presidential candidates, on MTV, with live webcasts on MTV.com and MySpaceTV. Cooking.com In Deal With Food Network
Santa Monica-based Cooking.com said today that it is in a multi-year partnership with Food Network, to expand the food-focused media firm's e-commerce web site. The firms said that they will expand Food Networks' current e-commerce business with a new online storefront, FoodNetworkStore.com, from 1,000 products to over 20,000 products. DivX Buys Veatros
San Diego-based DivX, a provider of video encoding and decoding technology, said Wednesday afternoon that it has acquired the assets of Veatros LLC, a developer of technology for real-time digital video processing. Wannago Launches New Social Networking App
Los Angeles-based Wannago.com, a site focused on matching up people with activities, said today that it has launched a new social networking application looking to connection people offline based on mutual interest in an event. The site, which was formerly known as MatchActivity, is focused on helping people meet other people with similar interests through activities.
