BioIQ Gets Funded By Great Pacific
Santa Barbara-based BioIQ, a firm developing home test kits and corporate wellness products for detecting diseases, has quietly raised a round of funding from Great Pacific Capital. Terms of the funding have not been announced, and a spokesperson for BioIQ would not release further details of the funding. Great Pacific Capital is the Santa Barbara-based venture capital firm headed by FastClick's Dave Gross and Rusty Reed.

Vitesse Sells Storage Products Business
Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor said Thursday afternoon that it has agreed to sell a portion of its storage products business to Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. The deal is worth $63M in cash plus up to $12M in future earn-out. Maxim will acquire Vitesse's Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Serial Attached ATA (SATA) product lines, including the firm's storage management products. Wonderware Names Bullotta CTO
Lake Forest-based Wonderware said earlier this week that it has named Rick Bullotta as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the firm. Wonderware said that Bullota was most recently at SAP working on resaerch activities in "future manufacturing" and product management; he co-founded LIghthammer Software Development Corp, which was acquired by SAP in 2005. Kofax Signs Utah Customer
Irvine-based Kofax said today that it has signed on the State of Utah's Office of Recovery Services as a client. The office is using Kofax software for records management and an electronic mailroom solution. Kofax is a provider of software for document management. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Office of Recovery Services manages child support services and manages child care in the State of Utah.
