ThisNext Hires President
Los Angeles-based ThisNext, which provides online content around social shopping, said Monday evening that it has hired Scott Morrow as President and a board member at the firm. Morrow was most recently an executive at IAC/CitySearch, and also headed marketing and sales at CNET Networks for its Download.com business unit. ThisNext said that Morrow will shape the firm's overall business strategy and lead day-to-day operations. ThisNext is venture backed by Anthem Ventures and Clearstone Ventures.

Shopatron Scores $6M
San Luis Obispo-based Shopatron said Tuesday that it has raised $6M in a Series B funding round. The round came from Kern Whelan Capital, and also included participation by prior investor Rivenrock Capital. Shopatron develops e-commerce software used by consumer brands. The firm said the funding will be used to expand into new markets, develop and launch new services, and expand its team.

The Rubicon Project Raises $6M
Los Angeles-based The Rubicon Project said Tuesday morning that the firm has raised $6M in a Series A venture round. The funding came from Clearstone Ventures, which invested $4M in the firm, alongside $2M in venture debt from Square1Bank. The Rubicon Project is headed by Frank Addante, and is focused on automating the Internet advertising industry. Addante was a founder of L90/adMonitor. The firm said that it is launching a private beta of the firm's web site on the 8th of October.

Printronix Acquired For $108M In Private Equity Deal
Irvine-based Printronix, a manufacturer of printing products for the supply chain industry, said today that it has been acquired by private equity firm Vector Capital in a $108M deal. Printronix said that its stockholders will receive $16.00 in cash for each of its share in the deal, which is approximately an 18.3% premium over its closing stock price yesterday. Soapbox Mobile Acquired By Single Touch Interactive
San Diego-based Soapbox Mobile, a provider of mobile marketing and advertising products, has been acquired by Encinitas-based Single Touch Interactive, a provider of mobile downloading software. Financial terms were not disclosed. Single Touch provides abbreviated dialing codes for the download of content onto mobile phones, including ringtones, video, and audio. Low.com Launches Mortgage Lead Portal
Los Angeles-based Oversee.net said today that its Low.com financial portal and launched a new, self-serve portal for matching mortgage brokers and loan officers with consumer leads. The firm said its new LeadMatch.com service will provide access to high quality mortgage leads though a web-based interface. The service, which is priced per lead and starts at $500 for a bundle of leads, allows brokers to filter through the types of leads they want to receive from Low.com. Break.com, Panache Partner On Advertising
Encino-based Panache and Los Angeles-based Break.com said today that Break.com will use Panache's advertising platform on its web site. According to the companies, Break.com will use the Panache technology for video advertising delivery. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Break.com operates an online web site focused on video and other content for men; Panache develops technology used for delivering and targeting advertising content.

Xirrus Adds Another School
Westlake Village-based Xirrus has added another school to its customer list, the firm disclosed this morning. Xirrus said that its product has been selected by Envision Schools, a non-profit, charter school in the San Francisco Bay Area. Xirrus did not disclose financial details of the customer win. Xirrus said that its WiFi products will be deployed at four high schools at Charter. The deployment replaces an existing WiFi solution. Day Software Expands IBM Relationship
Newport Beach-based content management software firm Day Software said this morning that it has expanded its relationship with IBM. The firm has joined an IBM partner program focused on IBM's FileNet software, the IBM ECM ValuNet Partner Program. Day said the move is part of an integration of its content management products with IBM's FileNet document management software.
