ToutVirtual Signs Distributor
Carlsbad-based ToutVirtual, a firm that develops software for managing virtualization software, said Wednesday that it has signed on Lifeboat Distribution as a distributor of its products. ToutVirtual develops management software that is used for managing virtual computing products from VMware and other software providers. Nirvanix Opens Storage Service
San Diego-based utility storage service provider Nirvanix said Wednesday morning that it has placed its service into general availability. The firm, which provides a storage service which is accessible via software interfaces, competes against Amazon.com's S3 storage services. The firm also said that it has opened up beta availability of media transcoding, image manipulation, file search, and sideloading of files. Emulex Unveils Reseller Program
Costa Mesa-based storage area networking hardware firm Emulex announced this morning that it has rolled out a new reseller program. Autobytel Launches Consumer Focused MyRide.com
Irvine-based Autobytel said today that it has officially launched its consumer focused car web site, MyRide.com. Linspire Upgrades Linux OS
San Diego-based Linspire, a developer of a commercial version of the Linux operating system, said this morning that it has released an upgraded version of its Linspire desktop Linux OS. Music Plus TV Renamed Vlaze.com
Los Angeles-based Music Plus TV said this morning that it has become Vlaze Media Networks. The firm, which originally provided music and music related online videos and content, said that the name change represents a shift towards more diverse content production. DTS Launches Key Management Tool
Burbank-based DTS Digital Cinema, which develops content management systems for the digital theater market, said this morning that it has launched a new product around key management. The firm said its new KeyPort product solves security key distribution and management problems for digital cinema distributors and exhibitors. DTS Digital Cinema is a manufacturer of content management hardware, digital cinema players, and software.
