myShape Hires Merchandising Head
Pasadena-based myShape, an online fashion retailer funded by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and the Pasadena Angels, said Thursday that it has appointed Sandy Potter as Chief Merchandising Officer of the firm. The company, which operates an online service which matches women with clothing which fits them best, said that Potter joins the firm from Directives West, and has also served at The Broadway, Bullock's and J.W. THQ, American Girl Team Up On Video Game
Agoura Hills-based THQ and Mattel's American Girl division said this morning that the two are in a deal to publish video games based on American Girl's popular dolls and books. THQ will publish games based on American Girls characters, starting with one focused on Julie Albright, the firm's newest American Girl character, entitled Julie Saves the Eages. Kintera Visits Sesame Street
San Diego-based Kintera said yesterday that the firm's online fundraising software has been selected by the Sesame Workshop, the group behind the Sesame Street television program. Kintera said that the Sesame Workshop has selected the firm's technology, and will use it to enhance its online fundraising efforts. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Strix Deploys In Belgium
Calabasas-based Strix Systems has deployed its hardware in an installation in Belgium, the firm said yesterday. Strix said that Citymesh bvba, a Strix partner in the country, has deployed a citywide wireless mesh network in Blankenberge, Belgium. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Strix said that the deployment covers the town of 20,000 residents in its city center, promenade, harbor, and surrounding camp areas. Strix is a provider of Wi-Fi mesh networking hardware. Parasoft Expands In China
Monrovia-based Parasoft said Wednesday that it has opened a subsidiary in China. The firm, which develops products used for testing and developing software, said that thew new Shanghai office will provide local sales, training, and services for its products. Parasoft's software tools are used for improving software code quality. The new office will be headed by Jeff Chen, who has been appointed Managing Director of Parasoft China.
