ProQuo Launches Junk Mail Removal Service, Gets Backing from DFJ
La Jolla-based ProQuo, a new service focused on helping people reduce the amount of paper junk mail they receive, launched today. The firm, which says that it is venture backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, said it would allow users to choose which kinds of paper mail to stop and which kinds to receive. The company said its service is available starting today. The firm is headed by Steven Gal.

OuroBoros Raises $4M For Spinal Devices
Stealthy OuroBoros, based in San Diego, has raised $4M in a funding round for a minimally invasive spinal fusion device. No details of the company or round have been released. The firm first disclosed the funding in a regularly filing on September 19th; the recent PwC/NVCA MoneyTree report says the round was worth $4.095M.

EdgeCast Links With Flash Media Provider
Los Angeles-based content delivery network (CDN) provider EdgeCast Networks said today that it has linked with Influxis, a provider of Flash Media application hosting. The two said that EdgeCast will offer the Influxis Adobe Flash Application Hosting service to Edgecast customers, and that Influexis will offer Edgecast's CDN services to its own customer base. QLogic Qualifies Product With IBM
Aliso Viejo-based storage networking equipment provider QLogic said today that one of its products has been qualified with IBM. QLogic said that its SANbox 6140 intelligent storage router was qualified through IBM's System Storage Proven program for use with IBM's DS4700 and DS4800 storage systems. IBM's System Storage Proven qualification tests are a set of interoperability tests used to prove interoperability with IBM equipment. MySpace, Oberon Team On Casual Games
Los Angeles-based social networking web site MySpace has partnered with Oberon Media, a provider of casual games, to create a new gaming focused MySpace channel. According to the two, MySpace Games will allow users to play hundreds of online casual games from Oberon. The firms said the new service will launch in early 2008, and will also allow users to add games to their profile pages. The games will be available for free to users.

Kyocera Wireless Gets Design Win
San Diego-based Kyocera Wireless has been selected by Canary Wireless, a provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) communications products, the firms said Tuesday. Canary Wireless said it will use Kyocera's CDMA modules, used to connect equipment into CDMA networks. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
