IAC To Spin Off Ticketmaster, Other Firms
IAC said today that it is planning to spin off five of the firm's businesses as separate, publicly traded businesses. The firm said that it will look to split out IAC, HSN, Ticketmaster, Interval International, and LendingTree into different businesses, responding to the company's issues with investors understanding the company's wide ranging businesses. Fonality Buys CRM Software Firm
Los Angeles-based voice-over-IP voice software maker Fonality said Sunday that it has acquired Insightful Solutions Pty Ltd., a provider of CRM consulting in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. Financial terms were not disclosed. Fonality said that Insightful provides enhancements and services for SugarCRM, which is an open source customer relationship management software package. MySpace Announces Self-Serve Ad Targeting
Los Angeles-based social networking website MySpace said today that it has launched plans for a new, self-serve online advertising system. MySpace said that the new platform will allow advertisers to purchase, create, and analyze ad performance throughout its web site. According to MySpace, the firm's online advertising system will allow users to select specific geographic, demographic, and user interests to present advertising to users. Transpera Adds Mobile Video Ad options
Santa Monica-based Transpera said today that it has created a new pre-roll, advertising format for mobile video. The startup, which is funded by First Round Capital and Intel Capital, said that its new pre-roll videos are 5-10 second mobile video ads, which can be targeted by content usage and demographics. Transpera provides services for transcoding videos into mobile formats. The company is targeting online video publishing sites and mobile operators with its services.

Loopd Goes Live, Targets Sports Communities
San Diego-baed Loop'd Network, a new startup targeting the social networking area around online sports, said today that it has launched its service. The firm said it has signed on Monster Energy, Oakley, Pacific Sunwear, and Surfer Magazine's Hot 100 as customers, which will use the firm's Web 2.0 platform for creating their own online communities. Broadcom Ships Bluetooth Headset Chips
Irvine-based Broadcom has shipped a new chipset focused on Bluetooth audio, the firm said today. The new single-chip device is focused on the Bluetooth handset market, and according to Broadcom provides noise and echo suppression which significantly improves audio quality in mass-market headsets. Broadcom said the new chipset potentially reduces bill of materials costs by 40 percent, and is compatible with the firm's prior generation of chips. InTouch Health, Intuitive Surgical Partner
Santa Barbara-based InTouch Health, a provider of remote presence software for the health care industry, said today it is in a development and licensing agreement with Intuitive Surgical.
