My Damn Channel Signs Coolio, Others
Los Angeles and New York-based My Damn Channel, a venture-backed, online entertainment studio, said Tuesday that it has signed on rapper Coolio and two other artists to product programs for the firm. Financial details of the deals were not disclosed, however My Damn Channel said that Coolio, A.D. Miles, and Steve Kerper will launch video channels and create weekly, original episodic video content for the firm. The new series will debut in early 2008. Buy.com Expands Into Jewelry and Watches
Aliso Viejo-based online commerce provider Buy.com said Tuesday that it has expanded its product line into jewelry and watches. The firm said its new Jewelry & Watches store will offer more than 30,000 products, over a wide range of prices. Buy.com sells products from a wide range of categories, including consumer electronics, books, and sporting goods. The expansion is the company's first major new category addition since it added travel to its offers in May of last year.

Wyle Acquires RS information Systems
El Segundo-based aerospace firm Wyle said Monday that it has acquired RS Information Systems, a McLean, Va.-based federal systems integrator. Financial terms of the acquisition were no disclosed. Wyle is owned by Littlejohn & Co. Wyle said that the acquisition will bring the company to annual revenues of approximately $800M, and to more than 4,200 employees. Calixa Therapeutics Gets Investment From Domain
Calixa Therapeutics, a stealth San Diego biopharmaceuticals firm, has quietly raised a round of venture capital from Domain Associates, socalTECH has learned. According to Domain, Calixa is focused on developing, acquiring and commercializing hospital-based anti-infective therapies. No details of the funding have been announced. Eckhard Weber, a Partner at Domain Associates, is currently listed as interim CEO of the firm.

Walt Disney Buys iParenting
North Hollywood-based Walt Disney Internet Group said this morning that it has acquired iParenting Media, an Illinois provider of information for mothers. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Disney said that iParenting's content and services will be integrated into its network of family targeted sites. iParenting provides articles and information about pregnancy, babies and toddlers, and other parental advice. MySpace Adds New Music Program
Los Angeles-based MySpace said today that it has rolled out a new program for distributing exclusive music video content. The social networking site said that "MySpace Transmissions" will allow artists to record and sell content exclusively on MySpace, including both video and audio tracks. MySpace said the first feature who will be featured in the program will be James Blunt, who has recorded five tracks exclusively for MySpace. NIM Develops Application For YellowPages.com
Aliso Viejo-based location based services firm Networks In Motion said this morning that it has rolled out a new downloadable application for YellowPages.com. The firm said that the free application provides access to YellowPages.com's local business database, along with maps, step-by-step directions, and other features. Gemstar-TV Guide In Licensing Deal In China
Los Angeles-based Gemstar-TV Guide International said today that it has signed a multi-year interactive program guide deal with a Chinese cable operator, Changzhou Broadcast & Television Information Network Co. Ltd. (CZCATV). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Gemstar said that the deal was its first IPG agreement it has made in China.
