Inphi Names Sales Head
Westlake Village-based Inphi, a firm that develops analog semiconductors, said Wednesday that it has named Ron Torten as the firm's VP of Sales. Torten joins the firm from NemeriX, where he was CEO. Torten has also served at Agilent, Agere Systems, and Quantum Corporation. Inphi is venture backed by Mayfield, Tallwood Venture Capital, Walden International, and Flextronics.

Twistbox Entertainment Merges With Mandalay Media
Sherman Oaks-based Twistbox Entertainment, a provider of mobile content, has merged with a publicly traded, bulletin-board company called Mandalay Media, Mandalay Media announced Wednesday morning. Mandalay said that Twistbox will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the firm, with Twistbox CEO Ian Aaron joining the firm's board and continuing to operate Twistbox. Managed Data Holdings Acquires Colocation Provider
Irvine-based Managed Data Holdings, a provider of Internet colocation and web hosting services, said today that it has acquired Denver-based Data393. Managed Data, which is backed by Great Hill Partners and Catalyst Investors, did not disclose financial details on the acquisition. Data393 provides managed hosting, colocation and IT infrastructure. Gibbs Merges With Israeli Firm
Moorpark, California-based Gibbs & Associates, a developer of CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines, said Monday morning that it has merged with an Israeli Firm, Cimatron Limited. Cimatron said the deal was worth $5M in cash plus 1.5M shares of its common stock, worth roughly $9.2M in total. Cimatron was wholly owned by its founder and CEO, William F. Gibbs. Teledyne Buys Three Companies
Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies has acquired two companies and completed its acquisition of a third, the firm said today and in separate announcements last week. This morning, Teledyne said its subsidiary Teledyne Reynolds has acquired Storm Products Co., a manufacturer of specialty wire, cable, and interconnect products. Qualcomm Gets Injunction
San Diego-based Qualcomm said this morning that Federal District Judge James V. Selna has issued an injunciton against the firm's products, as part of an online patent infringement suit against the firm by Broadcom corp. According to Qualcomm, the firm has been ordered to immediately stop selling WCDMA products for the U.S. market whic h were found to infringe on Broadcom products. Cooking.com Raises $7M In Venture Debt
Santa Monica-based Cooking.com said this morning that it has raised $7M in a venture debt loan from ORIX Venture Finance. The firm, which operates an online e-commerce site for kitchen supplies, said that the funding would be used to expand its operations, enhance its community content, and accelerate its private label online programs. Smith Micro Rolls Music Software
Aliso Viejo-based Smith Micro said this morning that it has launched new music software for the PC and Mac platforms. The software developer said that its new product, TuneRanger, allows users to manage multiple Apple iPod devices and synchronizes iTunes libraries across multiple computers.
