Gorilla Nation Names CTO
Los Angeles-based Gorilla Nation announced Tuesday that it has named Christophe Louvion as CTO of the firm. Louvion joins the firm from Shopzilla, where he served in a number of positions, including Software Architect, VP of Operations, and VP of Product Development. Gorilla Nation provides online advertising representation to publishers to brand advertisers. The firm is backed by Great Hill, which put $50M into the firm last year.

Veoh Inks Deal With MTV
San Diego-based Veoh Networks, a provider of online video, and MTV Networks said today that the two have partnered to bring MTV's content to Veoh's web site. According to the firms, Veoh will feature programming from Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, CMT, Logo, The N, Spike TV, AtomFilms and GameTrailers. The firms did not detail the length or format of the video clips. Printronix Acquisition Completes
Irvine-based Printronix said today that the firm has completed its acquisition by private equity firm Vector Capital. The deal was worth $109M, and takes the company off the Nasdaq. Printronix was acquired by Pioneer Holding Corp., which is controlled by Vector. The deal was originally announced in October. Printronix is a developer of thermal bar code and other printing systms for the industrial market.

mobileStorm Signs 'American Idol' Producer
Los Angeles-based mobileStorm, a provider of email marketing services, said today that it has signed on FremantleMedia Enterprise, the producer of "American Idol" and "The Price Is Right." mobileStorm said that FremantleMedia will use the firm as an email service provider for all of the company's media properties. Broadcom, Boingo Wireless Team on WiFi Software
Irvine-based Broadcom and Santa Monica-based Boingo Wireless announced today that the two are in a strategic relationship to incorporate Boingo's software into Broadcom's WiFi phone chipsets. Financial terms of the deal were not disclose. The companies said that Broadcom will include Boingo's WiFi client software as part of its BCM1161 and BCM4318E, Wi-Fi phone chipset platform. Userplane Ties Into Friendster API
Los Angeles-based Userplane announced today that the firm has linked with social networking web site Friendster, and is joining Friendster's new developer program. The announcement came in conjunction with the launch of its Webchat 2 software on the Friendster site. Userplane provides Flash-based, web chat and messaging tools for social networking and other web sites. ReachLocal To Resell AdWords
Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal, a provider of online marketing services for the small and medium-sized business market, said today that it has inked a strategic alliance with Google, to resell Google Adwords advertising. Quartics Shows Wireless TV Technology
Irvine-based Quartics, the system-on-a-chip semiconductor startup headed by former AST founder Safi Qureshey, rolled out new products at CES yesterday, including a new wireless PDA-to-display product, a wireless PC-to-HDTV device, and new media software. Microsemi Buys TSI Microelectronics
Irvine-based Microsemi, a manufacturer of analog, mixed-signal semiconductors, said today that it has acquired TSI Microelectronics Corporation, in a deal worth $2.0M in cash. TSI Microelectronics is a provider of "custom hybrid" semiconductors for the defense and aerospace industry, including milspec replacements for discontinued integrated circuits.
