60Frames Debuts Online Series
Los Angeles-based 60Frames Entertainment, the online digital media firm founded by the United Talent Agency's Brett Weinstein, launched its online programming lineup Wednesday, and announced a number of distribution partners. The firm said that it has debuted seven new original, online series, including one produced by the creators of "Prom Queen." 60Frames said that it will distribute its content through Blip.tv, Break.com Dailymotion, Heavy.com, iTunes, MySpace, Veoh Networks, Vuze, and YouTub (More info...)

Helio Rolls New Slider, GPS Services
Los Angeles-based MVNO Helio said Wednesday that it has released a new, "slider" cell phone for the firm's cell phone services. Helio said that its new Mysto provides a 2 megapixel camera with 4x zoom, a 2.2 inch display, and 100MB of memory, along with audio and video playback. In addition to the new device, the firm has launched two new GPS-based search services, WHERE and TellME. Veoh Taps Dow Jones For Sales Exec
Los Angeles-based Veoh Networks, the online video sharing and broadcasting service, said this morning that it has hired Michael Henry as its new Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales. Henry joins the firm from Dow Jones & Company, where he was Vice President of its integrated corporate sales and marketing division. iStor Hires VP From Dot Hill
Irvine-based iStor Networks has appointed a new VP of Software Engineering, saying today that it has hired on Jim Wayda to the position. Wayda joins the firm from Dot Hill Systems, where he was Chief Software Architect and VP of Software Engineering. Wayda has also previously served at Digital Equipment Corporation, Distributed Logic Corporation, Plessey Peripheral Systems, and Transitional Technology. iStor is a manufacturer of network storage products.

Foundation 9 Entertainment Promotes Mann
Irvine-based Foundation 9 Entertainment said Tuesday that the firm has promoted David Mann, the firm's Chief Operating Officer, to President. Foundation 9 is an independent games developer backed by more than $150M from private equity firm Francisco Partners. Mann previously co-founded Amaze Entertainment, which was acquired by Foundation 9 Enteratinment in 2006. Foundation 9 also said it has promoted Chris Charla to VP of Business Development, and Jack Brummet as VP of Quality Assurance.

Rubicon Project Hires VP
Los Angeles-based the Rubicon Project, a firm developing software for optimizing Internet advertising for publishers, said Tuesday that it has hired on Bob Bennett as its Vice President of Product and Engineering. Bennett joins the firm from Ticketmaster, where he was SVP of Product Development. Bennett has also served at eToys, Jackson National Life, and Union Bank of California. Rubicon Project is venture backed by Clearstone Venture Partners, and is headed by former L90 founder Frank Addante.
