Visual Sciences Becomes Part of Omniture
San Diego-based Visual Sciences has officially become part of Orem, Utah-based web analytics provider Omniture, Omniture said Friday. Visual Sciences, which also provided web analytics tools, was acquired by Omniture for $394M in a stock and cash transaction. The deal was originally announced on October 25th last year. Quorum Systems Acquisition Completes
Shanghai, China-based Spreadtrum Communications said earlier this week that it has completed its acquisition of San Diego-based Quorum Systems. Spreadtrum said in November that it would pay $55M in cash and $15M in stock for Quorum, which designs CMOS radio frequency (RF) transceivers. The deal also calls for up to $6M in cash based on earn-outs over the next two years. Wyle Buys Systems Integrator
El Segundo-based Wyle said late Thursday that it has acquired RS Information Systems, a McLean, Virginia-based federal systems integrator. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Wyle, which provides engineering, professional, technical, an information technology services, said the acquisition will brings its total number of employees to more than 4,200, and its 2008 projected revenues to approximately $800M. Ripple Teams With SeeSaw Networks
El Segundo-based Ripple, which operates a network of information screens at retail locations, and Bay Area-based SeeSaw Networks said Thursday that the two are in an advertising sales partnership. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. According to the two firms, the agreement adds more than 2,000 Ripple screens to SeeSaw's home advertising inventory. Ixia Hires Marketing VP
Calabasas-based Ixia, which develops network performance test systems, said this week that Anupam Sahai has joined the firm as Vice President of Marketing. Sahai joins the firm from Polycom, Inc., where he was most recently senior director and general manager, Software Products and Applications for Polycom's Voice division. WebVisible Taps Google For Engineering VP
Irvine-based WebVisible, a provider of local advertising services, said earlier this week that it has named James K. Williams as the firm's Vice President of Engineering. Williams joins the firm from Google, where he was working on the firm's advertising technology. Williams has previously been a founder of Fluid Audio Networks and iKennect, and served at Mobile Automation, Winfire, Cybermedia, and Symantec. Occam Signs New England Customer
Santa Barbara-based Occam Networks announced Thursday that the firm has been selected by a New England telecommunications provider, FairPoint Communications, for a major broadband upgrade of its network. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Occam said its equipment has been selected to upgrade FairPoint's network in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Pentadyne Names CFO
Chatsworth-based Pentadyne Power, which develops flywheel energy storage systems, said earlier this week that it has appointed Mark Campion as Executive Vice President and CFO. Campion was most recently CFO of PolyFuel, a Silicon Valley firm developing membranes for fuel cells. ValueClick Promotes Execs
Westlake Village-based ValueClick said Thursday that it has made a trio of promotions among three of the firm's divisions. The firm said that it has appointed Kerri Pollard to General Manager of Commission Junction. Pollard has been at the firm for eight years, and previously served at BeFree. The firm also appointed Ann Hoey as General Manager of Mediaplex; Hoey joined ValueClick in 2000 from Levi Strauss & Co.
