Spot Runner Acquires Globeshooter
Los Angeles-based, Internet advertising and video firm Spot Runner said Tuesday that it has acquired Globeshooter, a network of independent filmmakers, videographers, photographers, producers, and production companies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Spot Runner said it will rename Globeshooter the Spot Runner Production Network. Boingo Partners With JiWire On Ad Deal
Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless said Tuesday that it is in a deal with JiWire to sell and serve Wi-Fi advertising at airports. Boingo said that JiWire will serve up advertising on its 28 Wi-Fi networks at airports in the U.S. and UK. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. JiWire is a provider of an advertising network based on location-aware advertising. North American Scientific Gets $15.5M In PIPE
Chatsworth-based North American Scientific said Tuesday that it has closed on a $15.5M private placement of its common stock. The funding came from venture capital firms Three Arch Partners, CHL Medical Partners, and SF Capital Partners. According to the firm, Three Arch invested $10M in the company; CHL $3M, and SF Capital Partners $2.5M. The sole placement agent for the transaction was Oppenheimer & Co. Quest Software Acquires Vizioncore
Aliso Viejo-based Quest Software said Monday afternoon that it has acquired Vizioncore, Inc., a provider of disaster recovery software for the virtualization market. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed, however, Quest already held a controlling interest in Vizioncore, which it acquired in 2005. Epicor Gets Shareholder Approval For Acquisition
Irvine-based Epicor Software said today that shareholder of NSB Retail Systems PLC have approved the firm's $322M acquisition of the UK-based provider of software for the specialty retail market. Epicor said that the acquisition still remains subject to both U.S. regulatory and UK Court approval. The firm said it expects to receive approval by February 7. Epicor announced its acquisition of NSB Retail Systems in December.

Covario Raises $16M
San Diego-based Covario, a provider of search engine marketing software and services, said today that it has raised $16M in a Series B funding round. The company, which was until yesterday known as SEMDirector, said the funding came from FTVentures, and also included prior investor Dubilier & Company and Voyager Capital. Evite Hires Exec
Los Angeles-based Evite, a provider of online event planning software and services, said today that it has hired Rosanna McCollough as the firm's General Manager.
