LiveUniverse Offers $11M For Stage6
LiveUniverse, the online interactive entertainment site headed by former Intermix head Brad Greenspan, said today that it has offered $11M plus equity to acquire Stage6, the online user generated video site owned by DivX. According to LiveUniverse, its offers to acquire the site has been rebuffed by the board of directors of DivX. LiveUniverse said it is looking to pay $3.0M in cash, plus $5.0M in online advertising to DivX to acquire its Stage6 site, which DivX shut down last week. The firm sai (More info...)

OGPlanet Partners With ClickandBuy
El Segundo-based OGPlanet, an operator of multiplayer online games, said today that it has partnered with Internet payment provider ClickandBuy. OGPlanet said that it will offer its players an option to pay via the payment provider. OGPlanet has a number of free, massively multiplayer online games; the firm allows users to purchase in-game items and accessories. Eyespot Targets VideoEgg
San Diego-based Eyespot, a provider of video editing and other tools, said Friday that it is looking to help video publishers migrate from VideoEgg. According to Eyespot, it will support publishers who have been informed they need to migrate from VideoEgg's video hosting and streaming service, which is being discontinued. Entretech Names Entrepreneurship Award Winners
Los Angeles-based Entretech, the nonprofit which is looking to boost the Los Angeles technology industry, awarded the winners of the group's annual Entrepreneurship awards Thursday night at a dinner in Los Angeles. The association tapped Rubicon Project, Zag, and eHarmony as winners of the awards, the fifth year for the group's event. Userplane To Release Media Player
Santa Monica-based Userplane said this morning that it will release a new media playing widget for its customers, which will support video uploading, publishing, and hosting. The firm, which is a subsidiary of AOL, did not give a new release date its new Userplane Mediaplayer software, which was previously targeted for release in June. Ixia Names Bhatnagar CEO
Calabasas-based Ixia said Thursday afternoon that it has promoted Atul Bhatnagar as CEO and President of the firm. Ixia, which develops network testing systems for high speed IP performance testing, said that Bhatnagar will succeed current CEO and co-founder Errol Ginsberg. Ginsberg will continue to serve as chairman of the board, and will become Chief Innovation Officer for the company. Ixia said the move was part of a succession plan for the company. Sendio Signs Automotive Dealership Group
Irvine-based Sendio, which develops email filtering appliances targeted at eliminating spam email, said earlier this week that the firm's products have been selected by the Don Valley North Automotive Group. The group operates a family of Toyota and Lexus dealerships in Canada. Financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. International Rectifier Names EVP, Adds to Board
El Segundo-based International Rectifier, a provider of analog, digital, and mixed signal integrated circuits, said Thursday that it has appointed Donald Dancer as the firm's Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.
