AECOM Completes Boyle Engineering Buy
Los Angeles-based AECOM Technology Corporation said Monday that it has completed its acquisition of Newport Beach-based Boyle Engineering. AECOM is a provider of engineering, technical and management support services for the government and commercial customers; Boyle Engineering is an engineering firm focused on the water industry, and employs more than 600 people. The acquisition of Boyle Engineering was originally announced in early February. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Digital Union Scores $1.7M For Software
North Hollywood-based Digital Union said Monday that it has closed on $1.7M of Series A funding for the firm's collaboration software. The funding came from an undisclosed list of individual investors, which the company described as a group of "seasoned business executives from the Midwestern US." Digital Union said the funding will go to expand marketing and distribution of its collaboration technology.

Geary Interactive Buys Fathom Online
San Diego-based Geary Interactive, a digital marketing agency, said Monday that it has acquired Fathom Online, a search engine marketing and technology services firm. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Fathom Online is based in San Francisco, and was started in 2002; the firm is venture backed by Constellation Ventures. Triage Wireless Gets $20.3M
San Diego-based Triage Wireless, which is developing medical devices used for monitoring patients via wireless sensors, said today that it has raised $20.3M in a strategic investment round from Qualcomm Ventures. The round also included participation by Sanderling Ventures, 3i Group, and Intel Capital. According to Triage, the round of funding brings the company's total raised to $25.8M. Chumby Takes $12.5M In Series B
San Diego-based Chumby Industires, which designs and develops a Linux-based gadget for connecting to Internet information services, said today that it has raised $12.5M in a Series B funding round. The lead investor in the round was JK&B Capital, and also included prior investors Avalon Ventures, Masthead Venture Partners, and O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures. MySpace Partners For Text Messaging Alerts
Los Angeles-based social networking web site MySpace said today that it has partnered with mobile services provider mBlox to provide text messaging alerts for its service. According to the firms, the new service will allow MySpace users to see text alerts using their mobile phones. The service provides notification of new messages, friend requests, comments, and other profile activity via SMS. Financial details of the deal were not released.

Gemstar-TV Guide Ties Into KDDI
Los Angeles-based Gemstar-TV Guide International said this morning that the firm has entered into an agreement with Japanese-based firm KDDI Corporation. According to Gemstar-TV Guide, the agreement covers licensing of Gemstar's technology for use on a mobile terrestrial digital video broadcasting service in Japan. Financial terms and impact of the deal were not disclosed. KDDI has been using Gemstar-TV Guide's interactive programming guides since 2006.

TriZetto Gets Win In Puerto Rico
Newport Beach-based The TriZetto Group, a provider of healthcare management software, announced this morning that it has signed on Tripl-S Management Corporation in Puerto Rico as a customer. Triple-S operates a managed care health plan serving Puerto Rico.
