Incuity Acquired By Rockwell Automation
Mission Viejo-based Incuity Software, a provider of enterprise manufacturing software, has been acquired by Rockwell Automation, Inc., Rockwell announced Tuesday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Rockwell Automation said that the acquisition will help the firm expand its FactoryTalk software suite. Mota Motors Lands $4.5M
Venice, California-based Mota Motors, which is developing online services to help car sellers sell their automobiles online, has quietly raised $4.5M in a venture capital round, socalTECH has learned. The firm, which is headed by Reza Bundy, helps users list their car for sale, offering additional services such as third party certification, professional photographs, answering purchase inquiries and vehicle escrow. Digital Map Products Plots Win At Zillow.com
Santa Ana-based Digital Map Products, a provider of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data and software, said Tuesday that it has signed on real estate website Zillow.com as a customer. According to DMP, Zillow.com will use the firm's enhanced parcel boundary data as part of its real estate web site. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Nirvanix Targets Amazon S3 With Offer
San Diego-based Nirvanix is targeting current customers of Amazon's storage-as-a-service offering, Amazon S3, saying Tuesday that it will allow users to upload data to its service with no fees for the next 30 days. The company said that it wants to make it easier for companies to consider its web-based storage service. Sendio Signs IT Provider
Irvine-based email security appliance firm Sendio said Tuesday that the firm has added Penn State Hospitality Services, which provides Internet access for on-campus hotels at Penn State University, as a customer. Financial terms of the customer win were not announced. Sendio develops email authentication appliances which use challenge/response to filter out spam emails. The firm is venture backed by Kline Hawkes California, LP and Momentum Venture Management.

MySpace, NBC News Launches Elections Site
Los Angeles-based social networking web site MySpace, and NBC News said late Monday evening that the two are in a partnership to launch a new, 2008 Presidential Election web site. The new site, named Decision '08, will focus on 2008 election related news, analysis, and discussion. According to the firms, the new site will allow MySpace users to access up-to-the-minute election coverage, news feeds, and daily videos from NBC News and msnbc.com. IOGEAR Ties Into Tree Planting Nonprofit
Irvine-based IOGEAR announced Tuesday morning that the firm is partnering with Trees for the Future, a US-based non-profit focused on tree planting, as part of its green initiatives. According to IOGEAR, it will plant one tree for every product purchased on its web site or by members of its GREEN initiative partner program. Break Media Creates Industry Group
Los Angeles-based online men's video web site Break Media said Tuesday that it has created a new "Online Video Advertising ROI Council" focused on measuring the effectiveness of online video. QAD Buys Software Developer
Santa Barbara-based QAD announced this morning that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Fulltilt Solutions, a developer of product information software. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. QAD said that Pennsylvania-based Fulltilt Solutions develops enterprise software used for Internet-enabled commerce, which will become part of QAD's product line. Overland Names Marketing VP
San Diego-based Overland Storage said today that it has appointed Ravi Pendekanti as the firm's Vice President of Marketing. Pendekanti joins the company from SGI, and has also served at Sun Microsystems, Intransa, Compuware, and HP. Overland, which develops data backup appliances for the storage market, said Pendekanti will lead the firm's global marketing initiatives. International Rectifier Founder Lidow Retires, Replaced
El Segundo-based International Rectifier said Monday that its founder, Eric Lidow, is retiring from the firm effective May 1st. Lidow, who was Chairman and a member of the firm's board of directors, will leave his position May 1st. Lidow founded International Rectifier in 1947 and served as its CEO until 1995, when he became Chairman. The firm said that Richard J. Dahl has been appointed the firm's Chairman of the board.
