Peerless Gets Approval On Sale
El Segundo-based Peerless Systems said Monday afternoon that its stockholders have approved the sale of substantially all of its intellectual property and other assets to Kyocera Mita Corporation. The firm said the deal was worth $37M in cash. Peerless had announced the sale in January, which gives its digital imaging software and printing related technology to Kyocera, which was the firm's primary customer. The firm said that 96 percent of shares voting approved the transaction.

Koders Acquired By Software Firm
Santa Monica-based Koders, a provider of source code search software and an online open source, source code search site, has been acquired. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Waltham, Mass.-based Black Duck Software said Monday that it will integrate Koders' search site into its products, and also enhance Koders' site with its own knowledge base products. Transpera Gets Win At AP
Santa Monica-based Transpera, a provider of mobile video services for video publishers and advertisers, has been selected by the Associated Press. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to the Associated Press, its wireless customers with video-capable phones will be able to view video on a new mobile news network. Transpera will provide the mobile video services. Nexsan Files For IPO
Thousand Oaks-based Nexsan, a provider of enterprise storage arrays, has filed for an IPO, according to a filing with the SEC Friday. Nexsan said it is looking to raise up to $80.5M in an IPO on the NASDAQ Global Market under the symbol "NXSN." The IPO is being underwritten by Thomas Weisel Partners, Lazard Capital market, Needham & Company, and Morgan Keegan & Company. LeadPoint Raises $6M
Los Angeles-based LeadPoint said today that it has raised $6M in a Series E financing. The round came from Silicon Valley Bank Ventures, as well as Redpoint Ventures. LeadPoint said the funding will go to "add bench strength to the company," launch new verticals, and expand marketing and sales. Solarflare Partners With Communications Equipment Manufacturer
Irvine-based Solarflare Communications said today that it has partnered with Delta Networks, a manufacturer of network communications equipment. Solarflare said that Delta Networks is manufacturing products based on Solarflare's 10 Gigabit Ethernet and 10GBASE-T technology for OEMs. Financial terms and further details of the partnership were not disclosed. Sierra Entertainment Adds Sequel To Crash Bandicoot Series
Los Angeles-based Sierra Entertainment announced the next title in the firm's popular Crash Bandicoot video game series, saying today that it will ship Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant this fall. The new video game title will be released on the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable. Sierra Entertainment is a division of Vivendi Games. Broadcom Ships PHY Chips
Irvine-based semiconductor firm Broadcom announced today that it has shipped a new chip for the 10 Gigabit Per Second Ethernet market. The new chip, which is used for physical level connectivity in networks, supports the 10GBASE-KR standard, which defines a way to carry high speed, 10 Gigabit Ethernet on backplanes. CompIQ Acquired by ACS
Irvine-based CompIQ Corporation, a provider of worker's compensation claims review software, has been acquired by Affiliated Computer Services. Texas-based ACS said that it would pay $22M for CompIQ, plus additional unspecified contingent payments based on future financial performance. CompIQ develops software used for medical bill review and cost containment of worker's compensation, group health, and liability insurance. BidShift Becomes Concerro
San Diego-based BidShift said this morning that it has renamed the company, and has become Concerro, Incorporated. According to BidShift, Concerro is Latin for "to bridge or connect." In explaining the name change, the firm said that the name change embodies its philosophy as a company. Bidshift develops software-as-a-service for managing staffing and employee schedule at hospitals. The company is venture backed by Aperture Venture Partners, Carrot Capital, and Himalaya Capital.
