Activision Announces Guitar Hero Sequel
Santa Monica-based video game maker Activision said today that it is rolling out a sequel to the firm's Guitar Hero franchise, Guitar Hero World Tour. The firm said that the new title will add drums, bass guitar, and a microphone to the popular video game title, and will also allow players to play the popular game online. Gorilla Nation Signs Deal, Expands
Gorilla Nation, a Los Angeles-based online advertising representation firm for web sites, said this week that it has signed a deal to represent Freewebs, a UK-based provider of free web page hosting and tools for building personal home pages. Websense Adds Texas Bank
San Diego-based security software firm Websense reported today that its products have been selected by OmniAmerican Bank, a financial institution located in Texas. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Websense, OmniAmerican Bank is using the firm's Websense Data Security Suite for monitoring and data loss prevention. Websense is a developer of software for Internet filtering, monitoring, and security.

Craton Equity Partners Closes $191.5M Cleantech Fund
Los Angeles-based Craton Equity Partners said Wednesday that the firm has finalized on a third and final close of a new clean technology focused venture capital and private equity fund. The firm said that it has raised $191.5M for the fund, which first had a close in December of 2006. Craton Equity Partners was founded by Bob MacDonald and Tom Soto. Peregrine Semiconductor Adds VP
San Diego-based Peregrine Semiconductor said today that it has appointed Ian Warbrick as Vice President of Supply Chain and Customer Service. The provider of RF-CMOS and other mixed signal communications chips said that Warbrick joins the firm from International Rectifier, where he was VP and GM of that firm's Power Semiconductor Business Unit.
