MP3Tunes' Robertson Gets Sued By EMI
Michael Robertson, the outspoken founder of MP3.com, said this week that record company EMI is looking to make him personally liable as CEO of MP3tunes in a lawsuit filed against the firm. San Diego-based MP3tunes, a provider of online music storage services for MP3 files, is being sued by EMI over copyright infringement. EMI filed suit in November of last year over MP3tunes' Sideload and music locker services, saying that the services were a violation of copyright law. MP3tunes' services allow (More info...)

Astute Networks Rolls Out Blade Storage Product
San Diego-based Astute Networks, a provider of storage blades, said Thursday that the firm has announced availability of a bladed storage product for the ATCA Market. The firm said its new Caspian R1100 Edge Storage Blade is targeted at the communications and media industry. The blade storage product supports the iSCSI Ethernet based storage protocol and up to 4 SAS or SATA drives. Occam Networks Adds Two Customers
Santa Barbara-based Occam Networks, a provider of products for the telecommunications industry, said Thursday that the firm has signe don two new customers for its equipment. Occam said that Sogetel of Quebec, Canada and Marquette-Adams Telephone Cooperative based in Oxford, Wisconsin have both selected the firm's products to deliver fiber-to-the-premise and voice, data, and video services to their customers.
