Atomkeep Launches Social Profile Synchronizer
Los Angeles-based Atomkeep has launched a new service which allows users to synchronize their profiles between major social networking web sites. Atomkeep said that its service synchronizes between LinkedIn, Facebook, Monster, Flickr, Twitter, Jobster, Blogger, Yelp, Slide, JOBcentral, and Mixergy. ShopIt Adds App For AIM
Los Angeles-based ShopIt, which develops software which allows users to create storefronts for their social networking profiles, said today that it has released a new application focused on AOL's instant messenger service, AIM. According to ShopIt, its new application allows users to buy and sell goods from the AIM Buddy List; users can select items they'd like to sell and post them to their store for purchase. Epicor, IBM Team on POS Product
Irvine-based Epicor Software has teamed up with IBM on a new point-of-sale product for specialty and department store retailers. Epicor announced the deal Monday morning, saying that its collaborative agreement with IBM includes an offering which will centrally manage and support point-of-sale (POS) hardware and software using IBM's Remote Management Agent (RMA) hardware. Overland Storage Buys Adaptec's Snap Server Line
San Diego-based Overland Storage, a provider of data storage products, said today that it has acquired Adaptec's Snap Server NAS business, in a deal worth $3.6M. Overland said the deal will add best-in-class NAS and replication solutions to its product line. Adaptec's Snap Server NAS products are marketed to the small and medium sized business market. $2.1M of the purchase price will be paid in cash on close, with the rest over the next 12 months. Sometrics Signs Up Developers
Los Angeles-based Sometrics, which is developing software for gathering analytics around social networking applications, said this morning that the firm has signed up 1,000 developers for its analytics tools. The firm said those developers are participating in the firm's beta test. Sometrics' analytics tools are used to analyze the usage of applications on Facebook, MySpace, hi5, and Bebo. j2 Global Sues Three Over Patents
Los Angeles-based electronic FAX service provider j2 Global Communications said this morning that it has filed three, separate patent infringement suits. j2 Global announced that it has sued Protus IP Solutions INc., Captaris Inc. and EasyLink Services International Corporation. Nirvanix Partners With Archiving Software Firm
San Diego-based cloud storage services firm Nirvanix has tied in with data archiving software firm Atempo, the firms announced today. The two said that Atempo has integrated its Atempo Digital Archive product with the Nirvanix Storage Deliver Network, the Nirvanix cloud storage service. Autobytel Hires New CTO
Irvine-based Autobytel announced today that the firm has appointed Michael Hunsche as the firm's Chief Technology Officer. The firm, which provides automobile marketing services through its online car buying website, said that Hunsche joins the firm from Arbonne International, a global marketing company. Hunsche has also served at KinderCare Learning Centers, The Walt Disney Company, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Quest Ties Into Eclipse IDE
Aliso Viejo-based Quest Software said Monday morning that the firm's JProbe Java profiling software now connects into the popular Eclipse integrated development environment (IDE). introNetworks Signs Virgin Galactic
Santa Barbara-based introNetworks, which develops social networking software for companies and community web sites, said last week that it has signed on Virgin Galactic as a customer. introNetworks said that it will build and launch a social network for Virgin Galactic, the commercial spaceflight operation of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group.
