Userplane Links With Online Community Sites
Los Angeles-based Userplane, the instant messaging and chat software firm owned by AOL, said Thursday that it has added four companies to the list of online service providers using integrating its products. According to Userplane, KickApps, Small World Labs, Magnify, and Pringo are all using its instant messaging, live chat, and presence tools within their online community tools. RealD Expands In Latin America
Los Angeles-based RealD, a provider of 3D movie projection technology, has inked a deal to expand the firm's screens in Mexico, Central America, and South America. RealD said Thursday that it has tied in with Cinepolis, Inc., which the firm describes as the world's fifth largest cinema exhibitor. The deal includes 500 screens, with a rollout in progress, continuing through 2010. Financial aspects of the deal were not disclosed. Cinepolis has more than 1,800 screens in 201 theaters

ValueClick Lowers Estimates, Blames Economy
Westlake Village-based ValueClick said this morning that it is lowering its revenue guidance for the second quarter, blaming a sluggish economy for taking a toll on its results. According to ValueClick, the firm saw essentially flat revenue within its Media segment, which operates its comparison shopping and U.S. display advertising businesses. Xirrus Adds European Customers
Westlake Village-based Xirrus, a provider of Wi-Fi switching hardware, said this week that it has signed on two new customers for its products. According to Xirrus, the firm's hardware has been deployed by Middleton Paper, a paper manufacturing firm in the United Kingdom, as well as TATA S.P.A., an industrial air conditioning and heating manufacturer, in Treviso, Italy. Sometrics Partners With Social Media Advertising Agency
Los Angeles-based Sometrics, a provider of analytics software for social networking applicaitons, said today that it has partnered with appssavvy, a provider of direct sales services for application developers in the social media space. According to the two, developers working with Sometrics can start today to allow sharing of their demographics data with appssavvy, which uses that data to connect advertising brands and agencies with social media applications developers. United Online Gets Funds For Acquisition
Woodland Hills-based United Online, which operates consumer Internet dial-up and other services, said this morning that it has received a commitment from Silicon Valley Bank for $60M in a senior secured term loan facility. The company said it would use the facility to fund a portion of the cash acquisition of FTD Group. iSuppli Buys Automotive Research Firm
El Segundo-based iSuppli Corp, a provider of industry analysis services for the electronics industry, said this morning that it has acquired Telematics Research Group, Inc., a provider of research in the vehicle-electronics market. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Telematics Research Group is based in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
