DATAllegro Acquired By Microsoft
Aliso Viejo-based DATAllegro, which develops data warehouse appliances, has been acquired by Microsoft, the two firms said today. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Microsoft, it will retain most of DATAllegro's team in Aliso Viejo, where it will create a "Center of Excellence" for data warehousing. Dayak Bolsters Funding
San Diego-based Dayak, a firm which operates an online marketplace that matches employers and recruiters, has raised a round of funding and added some new investors, the firm's CEO, Allan Sabol, told socalTECH this week. In an interview with socalTECH, Sabol said the new Series A-1 raise was worth just under a million dollars, and included prior investors First Round Capital, NextStage Capital, and Bessemer Venture Partners. TechSpace Signs Long Term Lease In OC
Aliso Viejo-based TechSpace, a provider of office space and IT services to the technology industry, said this week that it has signed a long term lease on its 65 and 75 Enterprise facilities in Aliso Viejo. The lease for the two buildings, which are popular with Orange County startups and technology businesses, runs through 2017. ReachLocal Names CFO, General Counsel
Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal said Thursday that it has hired on both a new CFO and a General Counsel. The venture backed provider of Internet marketing services for small and medium sized businesses said that Ross Landsbaum has been appointed CFO, and Adam Wergeles as General Counsel. Opposing Views Opens Doors On Information Site

CasualCafe Unveils Facebook Games
Redondo Beach-based CasualCafe, an online games developer, has unveiled the company, and launched a set of two new games on the social networking site Facebook, the firm announced this week. According to CasualCafe, it has launched two games, Spyde Solitaire and Burdaloo, for the Facebook platform. Spyde Solitaire is a card game, and Burdaloo is a mix-and-match game focused on animated characters. Podclass Gets Facebook Funding
San Diego-based Podclass, a developer of a service around online learning, said today that the firm has been awarded a grant through Facebook's fbFund, the Facebook incubation program which puts $25,000-$250,000 into promising Facebook applications. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. Podclass is developing a web service which allows users to create, find, and sign up for online classes. The firm is headed by Gary Gil. Facebook's fbFund is funded by Accel Partners and The Founders Fund.

NextWave Wireless Sells Spectrum
San Diego-based NextWave Wireless said today that it is in an agreement to sell a portion of its Advanced Wireless Services (aWS) spectrum, in a deal worth $150.1M. According to the firm, the deal, which is with four unnamed parties, represents 63% of its AWS MHz-pops. After the sale, the firm will still own spectrum in New England, Florida, and California. Uber Launches Online Web Publishing Tool
Los Angeles-based Uber has launched a new set of tools that allow people to create online photo galleries, slideshows, and web sites. The startup, which is the latest effort of former Friendster CEO Scott Sassa, also said that it is a launch partner for Facebook Connect, Facebook's effort to allow other web sites to authenticate using the Facebook system. Demand Media Relaunches Trails.com
Santa Monica-based Demand Media announced today that it has relaunched its Trails.com property with tools from Pluck, the social media firm it purchased in March. Demand Media's Trail.com property provides information on outdoor activities and hiking and mountain biking trails, and was part of Hillclimb Media, a firm Demand Media purchased in August of 2006. MindTouch Upgrades Business Wiki Software
San Diego-based MindTouch said Wednesday that the firm has upgraded its open source wiki software, MindTouch Deki. According to the firm, the latest release of its software has added new integration with SugarCRM, Salesforce, and LinkedIn; database software adapters for MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access and Microsoft ADO.NET, along with connections to WordPress and other blogging software. MindTouch's wiki software is focused on enterprises.
