Activision Buys FreeStyleGames
Santa Monica-based Activision Publishing said Friday that it has acquired FreeStyleGames, a UK-based video game developer. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. FreeStyleGames develops music-based games, including localized, downloadable content for Activision's popular Guitar Hero franchise. Activision said that FreeStyleGames is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Publishing, and that the firm's management team have all signed long-term employment contracts with Activi (More info...)

Interview with Frank Sinton, Mefeedia
We recently ran into Frank Sinton, founder of Burbank-based Mefeedia (www.mefeedia.com), a popular online video search web site. Although Mefeedia plays in the very crowded, online video space, the site seems to be very popular with end users, so we thought we'd chat with Frank a bit about the company. GoTV Networks Inks Ad Partnerships
Sherman Oaks-based GoTV Networks, a venture-backed developer of mobile new media, said this week that it has inked three partnerships with mobile advertising firms. According to GoTV Networks, it has teamed with Millennial Media, digital SIDEBAR and Ad Infuse to provide mobile ads alongside its content. The firm said the partnerships are part of a move to transition its subscription content over the long term to an advertising-supported model. Valeant Pharmaceuticals Completes European Ops Sale
Aliso Viejo-based Valeant Pharmaceuticals said late Thursday that it has completed its sale of its European operations to Meda AB, in a deal worth approximately $425M in cash. Valeant had originally announced the deal August 4th. The deal included certain business operations located in Western Europe, Easter Europe, and other markets. Valeant said it was advised by Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in the deal.

LeisureLink Signs Destination Rewards
Pasadena-based LeisureLink has signed on a loyalty and incentive company, Destination Rewards, as part of its travel services, the firm said earlier this week. LeisureLink, which provides online distribution and marketing of vacation lodging, said that it will offer consumer rewards and loyalty programs that can be used for vacation travel and merchandise.
