Bankaholic Acquired By Bankrate
San Marino, California-based Bankaholic, an online site providing information about certificates of deposit, savings accounts, and money market accounts, has been acquired by Bankrate, Inc., Bankrate said Tuesday afternoon. Bankrate said paid $12.4M for Bankaholic, with an additional $2.5M in earn-out. Sequenom Acquires Diagnostics Lab
San Diego-based Sequenom, a provider of genetic analysis products, said Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM), a clinical diagnostics laboratory based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. According to Sequenom, it will pay approximately $4.0M to acquire CMM, in addition to receiving a tax incentive valued at $20M over 12 years. CMM is a joint venture between Spectrum Health and Van Andel Research Institute.

YouMail Gets Win With Wireless Carrier
Irvine-based YouMail, a provider of a customized voicemail service, announced a partnership today with IMMIX Wireless, a wireless carrier based in Pennsylvania. YouMail said that it will enable IMMIX Wireless to provide its customers with its free cell phone voicemail service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. MTV Buys Social Project
Santa Monica-based Social Project--which was once known as Tagworld--has been acquired by MTV Networks, MTV said Monday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to MTV Networks, which is a division of Viacom, the acquisition will allow the firm to accelerate its introduction of its Flux social media platform across its portfolio. Novatel Wireless Gets FCC Cert
San Diego-based Novatel Wireless, a developer of broadband data cards for the wireless market, has received an FCC certification for its new USB modem, the company said today. The firm's new wireless data micro modem provides EVDO Rev A. connectivity for notebooks, PCs, and PDAs. The firm said the new product is expected to be available in Q4. SendMeHome.com Launches Lost and Found Service
Santa Barbara-based SendMeHome.com is looking to tap into the honesty of strangers who find lost items, with a free online service to register valuables. The firm, which launched its site last week, said that it will allow users to register personal valuables on the site, and help people who find those items locate their owners.
