MyShape Raises $12M, But Not Done Yet
Pasadena-based MyShape has raised $12M in a round of venture capital, the company's CEO, Louise Wannier, confirmed Monday after reports that the firm had closed a round of funding, but said the round was still in progress. The funding came from Lehman Brothers Venture Partners and also included prior lead Draper Fisher Jurvetson, along with local angel groups the Pasadena Angels and the Tech Coast Angels. Transpera In Win With Ford Motor Co.
Santa Monica-based Transpera, a venture-backed provider of mobile phone video advertising, said Monday that the firm has scored a win with a new mobile video ad campaign from Ford Motor Co. According to Transpera, it will run an ad campaign for Ford's new 2009 Lincoln MKS, across mobile content sites. Those sites include the AP's Mobile news Network and CBS Mobile News. Mindspeed Sells Patents, Gets $15M Line Of Credit
Newport Beach-based Mindspeed Technologies, a supplier of semiconductors to the networking industry, said today that it has sold a number of its patents for $2M, and also scored a $15M line of credit from Silicon valley Bank. According to Mindspeed, it gained $2M from the sale of "non-core" patents. The patent deal also includes future revenue from licensing royalties. The buyer of those patents was not disclosed. Zag Adds Another AAA Group
Santa Monica-based Zag, which is developing software for auto buying programs, has signed on another AAA group as a customer. According to Zag, AAA Mid-Atlantic has just unveiled a auto buying program which is powered by the firm's software. Zag has developed a software product which allows users to fully configure and price cars for car buying programs and affinity groups; the firm's software is already being used by a number of other AAA clubs. Guidance Software Signs Verizon
Pasadena-based Guidance Software, a developer of digital forensics software, announced Monday that the firm's products have been selected by Verizon. According to Guidance, Verizon will use its EnCase eDiscovery software on a pay-per-use basis. Financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. Guidance Software develops software used for electronic discovery and forensics, particularly for extracting data from desktops, laptops, servers, and other PCs.

Comergence, BasePoint Partner On Compliance Monitoring
Orange-based Comergence and Carlsbad-based BasePoint Analytics, provider of tools for risk management in the finance industry, said this morning that the two are partnering. According to the firms, Comergence is partnering with Basepoint to add fraud and early pay default risk management into its products. Ixia Targets Energy Efficiency Testing
Calabasas-based network testing equipment firm Ixia said today that the firm's equipment has been used by an independent test lab to test energy efficiency of products. CalAmp Appoints VP
Oxnard-based CalAmp Corp., which develops wireless communications products, announced this morning that it has appointed Mike Zachan as the firm's Vice President and General Manager of its Aercept business unit. According to CalAmp, Zachan joins the firm from the BridgeWorks Group, a management consulting firm. Zachan has also served at DPAC Technologies and Conexant Systems.
