Overland Targets Video Surveillance Market
San Diego-based Overland Storage, a provider of data storage products, said Thursday taht the firm has inked a strategic alliance with Mobotoix Vision Systems. According to the company, the move ties Mobotix's IP cameras in a bundle with the company's Snap Server network attached storage appliances. Mobotix develops products for the video security and surveillance market; Overland's Snap Server provides NAS storage. Financial impact of the bundling deal was not disclosed. AMO Cuts Estimates, Blames Economy
Santa Ana-based Advanced Medical Optics is seeing an impact on it sales due to the economy, the firm disclosed this morning, saying it would lower its 2008 revenue guidance and EPS. According to AMO, it is now forecasting $1.17 billion to $1.20 billion in sales, rather than its earlier estimates of $1.22 billion to $1.24 billion in sales. Passenger Names Business Development Exec
Los Angeles-based Passenger, which provides software-as-a-service to companies to help connect with their customers, has tapped Samantha Skey as the firm's Senior Vice President of Business Development, and GM of its Eastern Region. According to Passenger, Skey joins the firm from Alloy Media + Marketing, where she was EVP of Strategic marketing. Skey has also served at Walt Disney Corporation, CNET, and Interactive Imaginations. Skey will be based in Passenger's New York office.

Energy Innovations Discloses Customer Wins
Pasadena-based Energy Innovation, the solar concentrator firm backed by Idealab, said earlier this week that it has signed up a number of customers using its solar tracking technology. Energy Innovations said that British Telecom is using its technology in an El Segundo location, and The North Face is using its tracking technology in a PV install in Visalia. Emulex Gets Design Win At Pillar Data
Costa Mesa-based storage networking hardware manufacturer Emulex has scored a design win in a storage system from Pillar Data Systems, the company announced Wednesday. Emulex said that its InSpeed Embedded Storage Switch is being used in Pillar's Axiom storage systems. The Emulex InSpeed switch is used for Fibre Channel switching between disk drives and storage controllers, and are embedded into data storage products.
