Rocketdyne Acquires Spacecraft Component Firm
Canoga Park-based Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne said Tuesday that it has acquired ARDE, Inc., a manufacturer of high performance spacecraft and missile propulsion components. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne develops rocket engines for the space shuttle, the Atlas and Delta launch vehicles, missile defense, and other applications. ARDE is located in Carlstadt, New Jersey.

Open Database Project Launches
AMULET Development, the firm beind the HostedDatabase.com web database service, has launched a new free web service called the The Open Database Project. According to AMULET, the new project allows the public to upload and publish any structured data to the Internet, for free. The service allows anyone on the Internet to create a web-based database, and add and search for information in those databases. iolo Expands In Europe
Los Angeles-based iolo technologies, publisher of the PC tune-up software System Mechanic, said this week that the firm has added support for Dutch and German. According to iolo, the product is now available in markets in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. System Mechanic is a software utility for fixing and optimizing PCs. Lead360 Gets XML Support
Los Angeles-based Leads360, a developer of software for managing sales leads, announced Tuesday that it has released a new product called XML Poster. According to the firm, the new software allows the posting of leads information in real time in XML format. Leads360 said the addition of XML support will help connect its software to third party packages like SoftVu, predictive dialers such as Five9, Salesforce.com, and other products.
