Fandango Signs Verizon Wireless
Los Angeles-based Fandango, the movie ticketing unit of Comcast Interactive Media, said Monday that the firm has inked a deal with Verizon Wireless. According to Fandango, it will power ticketing, showtimes, and other movie-related content on Verizon's "Verizon Hub." Verizon Hub is the telecom provider's broadband connection hardware, which was announced today and provides unlimited Voice-over-IP calling and voicemail services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lucix Gains $3M
Camarillo-based Lucix, a manufacturer of microwave and millimeter devices and subsystems, has raised $3.0M in venture funding, according to numbers released in last week's PricewaterhouseCoopers/NVCA venture Capital report. No details on the funding have been released. Lucix develops power amplifiers, converters, and other products for the aerospace market. Hollis-Eden Pharmaceuticals Lops A Third Of Company
San Diego-based Hollis-Eden Pharamceuticals, a developer of biopharmaceuticals, said Monday that the firm is cutting its workforce by approximately 33 percent, or 20 employees. According to the firm, the "aggressive" cost cutting plan is due to the current economic and industry conditions. In addition to the cuts, Hollis-Eden said it would freeze salaries, and suspend bonuses for all of its employees and execuive officers. The firm said the moves would give it a runway of two years.

Integrien Gets Patent
Irvine-based Integrien, a provider of performance analysis software for the enterprise, said today that the firm has gained a patent for its technology. The patent is the firm's first. According to Integrien, the patent -- United State Patent 7,467,067 -- covers its IT performance management system, and is part of its flagship product Alive. Wave Technology Solutions Acquires Radianta
Irvine-based Wave Technology Solutions Group, a systems integrator, has acquired fellow solutions provider and software developer Radianta, the firm disclosed this morning. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Radianta is also based in Irvine. According to Wave, Radianta will continue on as a separate entity. Emergent Game Technologies Gets $4M
Calabasas-based Emergent Game Technologies has taken $4M in funding for the firm's game development software, according to numbers released last week in the PricewaterhouseCOopers/NVCA Venture Capital survey. Details on the funding have not been released. Emergent Game Technologies develops the Gamebryo game engine, which is used to develop online, massively multiplayer online games. Sendio Scores $3.0M
Irvine-based Sendio, a developer of enterprise, anti-spam appliances, has scored $3.0M in a venture funding round. According to a spokesperson for the firm, the company raised $3.0M. The funding was first disclosed in regulatory filings and numbers released in the PricewaterhouseCoopers/NVCA MoneyTree survey last week. Nextivity Selected In Ireland
San Diego-based Nextivity, a developer of wireless products for extending indoor cellular service, revealed this morning that the firm has been selected in a deal which is part of Ireland's National Broadband Scheme. Nextivity said it will be deployed by broadband provider 3 as part of a high speed broadband effort in Ireland. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Xirrus In Australia Win
Thousand Oaks-based wireless hardware provider Xirrus has scored a customer win in Australia, the firm disclosed this morning. Xirrus said that it has deployed its 802.11abg+n Wi-Fi products at the Catholic Education Office Sandhurst (CEO) in Australia. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed, nor was the size of the install. Tickets.com In Strategic Partnership
Costa Mesa-based Tickets.com, a provider of online ticketing services, disclosed this morning that it has entered into a strategic alliance with ticket trading firm StubHub, and Ballena Technologies, a provider of 3-D maps for sports and entertainment venues. According to Tickets.com, the three firm have combined efforts to show and sell tickets from both Tickets.com and Stubhub on 3-D map views powered by Ballena. CyberDefender Hires CFO
Los Angeles-based CyberDefender, which develops antispyware and antivirus software, announced this morning that it has hired on Kevin R. Harris as the firm's Chief FInancial Officer. Harris joins the company after serving as Chief Operating Officer for Statmon Technologies Corp. Harris has also served at RKO Pictures, LLC, Pop.com, LLC, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios. CyberDefender also said that Harris has been at KPMG. CyberDefender develops security software.
