Rotohog Raises $2M
Los Angeles-based Rotohog, which develops fantasy sports games for sports leagues and others, has raised $2M in an inside round led by Mission Ventures and DFJ DragonFund. Rotohog's CEO, Kelly Perdew, told socalTECH that the idea behind the round is that it will take the firm to profitability. Rotohog powers fantasy sports for the NBA, the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, and others. Boingo Expands In Sweden
Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless, which operates a network of Wi-Fi hotspots, is further expanding its network today, saying that it has added 300 hotspot locations in Sweden. The firm said the new hotspots come as part of a deal with Clue AB, a firm which maintains Wi-Fi hotspots at 7-Eleven and Pressbyran convenience stores in the country. EQAL Launches HarpersGlobe.com
Los Angeles-based online production firm EQAL disclosed today that it has launched the web site it is codeveloping with CBS, HarpersGlobe.com, the companion site to the new CBS mystery Harper's Island. According to EQAL, the "social show" incorporates videos, photos, and blogs and social networking features which tie into characters and the story from CBS's Harper's Island, which is premiering on April 9th. DivX To Distribute Chrome
San Diego-based DivX said late Monday evening that it has inked a deal with Google to distribute Google's Chrome Browser alongside its video software tools. According to DivX, Google Chrome replaces third party software previously distributed by the firm. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. DivX said it will launch the effort in either Q1 or Q2 this year. DivX is a developer of video encoding and decoding software.

NexAira Adds To Board
San Diego-based NexAira, a venture-backed developer of 3G/4g wireless data products, said this morning that it has added two telecom vets to its board of directors. NexAira said that former president and acting CEO of Novatel Wireless, Brad Weinert, and the previous CEO of Radiant Communications, Jim Grey, have joined the firm's board of directors. NexAira is a developer of wireless routers, used to deploy wireless networks for retailers, digital signage, vehicles, surveillance, and other uses.

CircleUp Ties With Eteamz

Knowledge Adventure Launches Virtual World
Torrance-based Knowledge Adventure, a publisher of educational software titles, said this morning that it has officially launched its JumpStart virtual world targeted at 3 to 10 year olds. Knowledge Adventure--which opened a beta of the world in December--said the virtual world offers a "completely safe and secure" environment for kids. THQ To Ship Title Based On Disney Film
Agoura Hills-based THQ is reporting today that the firm will create a video game based on the upcoming Disney-Pixar movie UP. According to THQ, the video game--being developed by its Heavy Iron Studios unit--is based on Disney's upcoming comedy adventure, and will run on Wii, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, PSP, Windows, and Mac platforms. Vitesse Targets Fiber-to-the-Home
Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor, a developer of chips for the networking market, announced Tuesday that it has rolled out a new chipset targeted at the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) market. Enclarity Gains $5.5M In Series C Funding
Aliso Viejo-based Enclarity is announcing today that it has raised $5.5M in a Series C funding round. The round came from Bain Capital Ventures and Ignition Partners. According to Enclarity, the funding will go towards further research and development. Enclarity develops healthcare information systems which help keep databases up to date, including information about physicians and their practices. The new round of funding brings the company's total raised to around $21.8M.
