Geni Adds Tabs, Search Tools
West Hollywood-based Geni, the venture-backed, online family tree and networking site, said today that it has added a number of new features to its site, including the ability to search for similar profiles on the site, and improved access to popular features. According to Geni, the new features include the ability to look for profiles with similar names and birth and death dates, to help users find information on relatives that might have been entered by other users. EnLink Geoenergy Raising Round, Relocates To LA
Los Angeles-based clean technology investor Craton Equity Partners is reporting today that the firm is in the midst of raising a $10M, second round of funding for portfolio firm EnLink Geoenergy Services. According to Craton, as part of the new funding, EnLink is in the process of relocating its headquarters to the Los Angeles area. Chi.mp Loses Co-founder
Honolulu- and San Diego-based Chi.mp, an online service which allows users to create their own personal profile sites, has lost one of its co-founders, Rob Farrow. The firm disclosed the departure Wednesday. Farrow said on his Chi.mp site that he is leaving the firm to explore new opportunities, and his last day at the firm will be May 1st. Farrow was VP of Marketing at the firm.

Equipois Raises $1M
Los Angeles-based Equipois, has raised $1M in a recent venture funding round, the firm told socalTECH this week. The firm--which develops mechanical devices to make objects weightless, used by manufacturers and others to reduce workplace injuries and improve efficiency--has now raised $6M since its Series A funding in 2007. The funding was disclosed by Eric Golden, the firm's President and CEO, in an interview this week.

La Jolla Pharmaceuticals Gets Dreaded "Going Concern" Opinion
San Diego-based La Jolla Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded specialty pharmaceuticals firm, has received a dreaded "going concern" opinion from its auditor, Ernst & Young. The opinion--when an auditor decides that the firm being audited has issues to "continue as a going concern."--is often the death knell for firms. InteliCloud Raises Series A Funding
Newport Beach-based InteliCloud, a manufacturer of network equipment, is announcing today that it has raised a Series A financing round. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. The firm said the round was led by Media One Direct, a content delivery network company based in Aliso Viejo. InteliCloud is developing a networking hardware product which combines equipment for voice, video, and data into a single chassis. H2scan Names Marketing Exec
Valencia-based H2Scan, a developer of hydrogen monitoring systems, revealed Wednesday that the firm has appointed a new Chief Marketing Officer. According to the firm, it has named Gary Zamieroski to the position. Zamieroski joins the firm from Textron Systems, and has also served at GE and Honeywell. H2Scan is venture backed by Ravinia Venture Fund and Chrysalix Energy.
