MeFeedia Trumpets Visitor Numbers
Los Angeles-based MeFeedia, which operates an online video search engine, said earlier this week that it is seeing more than 7.6 million unique visitors a month. The firm, which indexes and searches for online video across different web video sites, also said it has rolled out a new user interface and layout. Mefeedia is backed by angel investors, and headed by Frank Sinton.

Nirvanix Confirms Funding Round
San Diego-based Nirvanix confirmed today that the firm has raised $5M in a new venture funding round. According to the firm, the new round came from original investors Intel Capital, Mission Ventures, Valhalla Partners, and Windward Ventures. The funding was first covered by socalTECH Mlast week. According to Nirvanix, the funding brings the company's total raised to over $23M. The firm said the funding would go towards expanding its enterprise service offerings. SAIC Gets USAF Contract
San Diego-based Science Applications International Corporation disclosed today that the firm has gained a $12M contract from the U.S. Air Force Weather Agency. SAIC said the contract covers advisory and assistance services to the agency. The Air Force Weather Agency provides weather and space information to U.S. combat forces.

Kofax Hires Chief Accounting Officer
Irvine-based Kofax disclosed this morning that it has hired on Gene Lynes as the company's new Chief Accounting Officer. Lynes joins the firm from Scantron Corporation, where he was Chief Financial and Operating Officer. Lynes has also served at EdVISION Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Kofax is a developer of document capture software.

Epicor Names New CFO
Irvine-based Epicor Software has named a new CFO, the firm said this morning. According to Epicor, it has appointed Michael Pietrini as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration. Pietrini has been at Epicor for 14 years, most recently serving as SVP of sales and operations. Pietrini replaces interim CFO Russell Clark, who will continue on as SVP Finance and Principal Accounting Officer.
