Boingo Wireless Courts SlingPlayer Users
Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless, which operates a worldwide network of Wi-Fi hotspots, is looking to attract disgruntled users of Sling's new iPhone application. Sling, which makes "time shifting" hardware devices to record television content, rolled out its SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone today, with a notable removal of 3G network support due to a spat with AT&T and Apple. PwC's Bill Molloie: Perspectives On Venture Investing In China
Having just returned from a three year stint serving the venture capital market in Shanghai, Bill Molloie--new head of PricewaterhouseCooper's San Diego emerging life sciences practice--has a unique view of the venture capital market. Docstoc Exits Beta, Adds Rev Share
Santa Monica-based Docstoc, the document sharing site run by Jason Nazar, said this afternoon that it has officially come out of its public beta. Along with the official launch, the firm said that it has rolled out a new revenue sharing agreement--DocCash--which will split Google AdSense revenue with people who upload documents to the site. Occam Scores Two Sales
Santa Barbara-based Occam Networks, which develops broadband equipment for the telecom industry, said Wednesday that it has signed on two new customers. Ocamm said that Northern Arkansas Telephone and Sledge Telephone, have purchased the firm's BLC 6000 FTTP products for network upgrades. Financial impact of the wins were not disclosed. Occam's hardware is used for fiber-to-the-home deployment.

Emulex Partners With Ethernet Technology Firm
Costa Mesa-based Emulex, a developer of Fibre Channel hardware for the storage networking market, said Tuesday that it has partnered with Ethernet equipment maker ServerEngines Corporation. According to the firms, they will partner to deliver "converged networking solutions." ServerEngines develops Ethernet and iSCSI hardware. Financial impact of the partnership were not disclosed. Kofax Rolls Out Monitoring Product
Irvine-based Kofax, which develops document capture software, announced this morning that it has launched a new product for monitoring its software. According to the firm, its new Kofax Monitor software provides real-time, enterprise monitoring and metrics. The new software can be used to both monitor and receive alert notifications about system errors. Pricing of the new software was not disclosed.

Hydra Adds LowerMyBills Vet To Board
Los Angeles-based Hydra, which operates an online advertising network, said today that it has appointed Stephen Semprevivo to the firm's board of directors. According to Hydra, Semprevivo was most recently President of Experian Interactive Media, where he also served as President of LowerMyBills.com, ClassesUSA.com, and the Experian Interactive Innovation Center.
