Panda Revs Security Software
Glendale-based Panda Security, which develops antivirus, anti-malware, and other security software, disclosed Thursday that it has released the firm's suite of "2010" software. The firm said that Panda Antivirus for Netbooks, Panda Antivirus Pro 2010, Panda Internet Security 2010 and Panda Global Protection 2010 were all released Thursday, and offer features such as an 80 percent performance improvement, faster browsing speeds, and less memory consumption.

Citysearch, IAC Looks To Contest For Business Ideas
West Hollywood-based Citysearch, the local reviews and directory service of IAC, has taken an unusual approach to finding its next business idea: it's running a contest which asks its users to submit a "brilliant" idea for web and mobile applications. Total Immersion In Deal With Nike
Los Angeles-based Total Immersion, a developer of technology which overlays digital images into live video images, said Thursday evening that the firm has scored a win with sports brand Nike. According to Total Immersion, its technology is being used by ad agency Widen+Kennedy to offer an "augmented reality slot machine." Bid4Spots Reports Progress On Cable TV Ads
Encino-based Bid4Spots, the online radio and TV advertising firm headed by Dave Newmark, said this week that the firm has seen a 40 percent increase in ad revenues in its online marketplace for cable television advertising since its launch in May. X1 Technologies Adds Web Indexing
Los Angeles-based X1 Technologies, the Idealab-backed software firm developing enterprise and desktop search tools, announced Wednesday that the firm has added web indexing capabilities to its software. MaintenanceNet Expands In EMEA
Carlsbad-based MaintenanceNet, a provider of extended warranty and maintenance contract management software, said Wednesday that the firm is expanding in Europe, due to what the firm described as "rising demand" in the region. Big Stage Adds Animated Avatars Into Skype
Pasadena-based Big Stage Entertainment, a developer of 3D avatar creation software, has released new software today which allows users of the popular Skype voice calling application to lip synch spoken words through a photo-realistic avatar.
