X Prize Foundation Names Three Lunar Lander Teams
Playa Vista-based X PRIZE Foundation now has three teams competing for its Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander Challenge, the competition which pits teams against an effort to develop a possible lunar lander, the group said today. According to the organization, there is $1.65 million in prize money remaining for its challenge, which is being managed by the X PRIZE Foundation for NASA. Awarepoint Names Strategy Officer
San Diego-based Awarepoint, a developer of real-time location systems for the healthcare and other industries, has appointed Dr. Dennis O'Leary as its Chief Strategy Officer. O'Learly was most recently President of The Joint Commission, and has previously served as Dean for Clinical Affairs at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and Vice President of the George Washington University Health Plan. VMIX Extends TV Hosting Deal
San Diego-based VMIX, a provider of online video publishing tools and related services, said today that it has extended a deal with Raycom Media TV, to add fourteen more TV station sites. VMIX said that an additional 14 television stations owned by Raycom will use its online video solutions. The firm did not disclose the financial impact of the additional customers.

The Search Agency Ties With CyberDefender
Santa Monica-based The Search Agency, a provider of search engine optimization, search engine marketing, and other related online marketing services, has signed on Los Angeles antivirus software company CyberDefender as a customer. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. According to CyberDefender, The Search Agency will manage the company's search marketing campaigns, including search engine marketing and search engine optimization. iRise In Canadian Win
El Segundo-based iRise, the software visualization firm backed by Morgan Stanley Venture Partners and Deutsche Bank, reported another win today. The firm said Canadian firm Evoco, a developer of project management and software for construction and facilities management, is now using the firm's products for visualizing and testing its next generation products. Financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. iRise develops software to prototype business applications without coding.
