Rippol Launches Video Discovery Service
San Diego-based Rippol, a new startup looking to help people discovery and find online videos, is launching today at the TechCrunch Real-Time CrunchUp in San Francisco. The new site uses social networking features, including links to Facebook and Twitter, to help users find and discover video based on information from friends and family. Central Desktop Goes Live With Zoho
Pasadena-based Central Desktop, the developer of online project management software headed by Isaac Garcia, has gone live with the firm's new integration with Zoho Spreadsheets tool. The firm said the spreadsheet support went live this week. The new use of Zoho comes shortly after the firm announced it was swapping providers of its spreadsheet functionality, from EditGrid to Zoho, due to EditGrid pulling support for its licenses. Flux Power Launches Lithium Battery Technology
San Diego-based Flux Power, a developer of lithium batteries and charging systems, said late last night that it has introduced a new family of products aimed at the industrial, solar, EV, wind, and peak-shaving power markets. Autobytel Extends Deal With Kelley Blue Book
Irvine-based Autobytel and Kelley Blue Book Co. said Thursday afternoon that the two have expanded an existing agreement, where Autobytel will get access to Kelley Blue Book's vehicle pricing information, specifications data, and editorial content for its web sites, and Kelley Blue Book will use Autobytel's lead distribution technology. Pentadyne Buys UK Firm
Chatsworth-based Pentadyne Power, a developer of flywheel-based storage systems, said Thursday afternoon that it has acquired TGT Energy Ltd., a UK-based developer of flywheel technology for rail and energy recycling applications. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. TGT Energy Ltd., which is based in the UK, has been working with Pentadyne since 2007. Slacker Ties Into T-Mobile
San Diego-based personalized radio service Slacker has inked a deal with T-Mobile, where T-Mobile will include the application directly on a smart phone. According to Slacker, T-Mobile USA customers using BlackBerry Curve 8520 smart phones will now see an icon for the application on their phones which will trigger a download of its application.
