Lumexis Lands $15M For In-Flight Entertainment Systems
Costa Mesa-based Lumexis, a developer of in-flight entertainment and broadband connectivity systems, announced late Monday that it has scored $15M in a private equity funding from Perseus LLC. According to Lumexis, the financing round also included prior investors PAR Capital Management and Zone Ventures, and includes an option for an additional investment of $7.5M. Broadcom Buys Dune Networks
Irvine-based semiconductor giant Broadcom is making another acquisition, saying Monday afternoon that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquired Dune Networks, a developer of switching fabric products for the data center networking market. Broadcom said it will pay approximately $178M net of cash for Dune, in an all-cash deal. Dune Networks has operations in Sunnyvale, California, and Yakum, Israel. HireRight Buys National Diagnostics
Irvine-based HireRight, a provider of online, employment background and drug screening services, said Monday that it has acquired a provider of drug testing and physical exam services, National Diagnostics. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. HireRight provides background screening and related services via web-based software, and is a unit of Altegrity. National Diagnostics is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Inphi Countersues Netlist
Westlake Village-based Inphi Corporation, a developer of high speed analog semiconductors, has counter-sued competitor Netlist, the firm announced Monday afternoon. According to Inphi, its lawsuit--filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California--alleges that Netlist's DDR3 Registered memory modules infringe on two of the firm's U.S. Patents. Siimpel Snags $813,000
Arcadia-based Siimpel, a developer of MEMs-based, optical microsystems being applied to the cell phone camera market, has raised raised $813K as part of a new, $8.0M fundraising effort, according to a regulatory filing from the firm today. The filing indicates the fundraising includes both equity and debt, and appears to be the first investment in a new venture round. Hulu Adds Advanced Search Page
Los Angeles-based video site Hulu has launched a new advanced search site, the firm announced today. According to the site, the new search page allows users to search for shows using advanced boolean searching, including use of "and", "or", and "not" search operators, phrase searches, and ability to filter searched based on content ratings.

Buy.com: Best Black Friday, Ever
Aliso Viejo-based e-commerce retailer Buy.com is reporting today that it has what it is calling its "biggest Black Friday" in its company's history. The firm did not reveal the amount of sales that day, but said that Friday surpassed its prior record, set last year. Buy.com said that the Black Friday results were bolstered by its third party, Buy.com Marketplace, which accounted for more than 30 percent of the site's orders. Oversee.net Gets Another Lawsuit
Another class action lawsuit has been filed against Los Angeles-based Oversee.net, over a scandal involving shill bidding by one of the employees of the firm's SnapNames unit. The lawsuit, which was filed last week, was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California by law firm KamberEdelson LLC and plaintiff Stewart Resmer. Xencor Licenses Technology To Centocor
Monrovia-based Xencor, a developer of biotherapeutics technology to improve antibodies, said this morning that it has licensed its Fc engineering technology to Centocor Research & Development, Inc. DivX Ships On LG Phones
San Diego-based DivX, a developer of video encoding and decoding technology, announced today that the firm's technology has shipped on two LG mobile phones. DivX said that LG's new LG GW620 Android smart phone, and the new LG Chocolate phone are both DivX Certified, and support the firm's video encoding format. DivX has been providing its technology to a variety of LG electronics, including its HDTV and DVD devices.
