Vizio: 280,000 HDTVs Sold On Black Friday
Irvine-based HDTV maker VIZIO reported Tuesday that it sold over 280,000 of its HDTVs on Black Friday, or 40 percent more over its sales in 2008. The firm attributed the boost in sales to its wide product range of HDTVs, as well as retail partners such as Costco Wholesale, Sam's Club, Walmart, Target, and others. Vizio is one of the largest makers of HDTVs.

Netlist: Inphi's Lawsuit Without Merit
Irvine-based Netlist, a developer of memory subsystems, responded Tuesday to a patent countersuit by Westlake Village-based Inphi Corp., saying that the lawsuit was "without merit" and will "fail in court." Inphi sued Netlist over two patents on Monday, after Netlist filed its own patent lawsuit against Inphi in September. Both firms develops high speed semiconductor circuits.

Xirrus Confirms $20M Funding
Thousand Oaks-based Xirrus confirmed Tuesday that it has raised an additional $20M in funding, bringing the firm's total raised to $80M. The round was led by InterWest Partners. Xirrus said the new funding would bolster its reserves, and would go towards partnerships with large integrators. Xirrus is a developer of Wi-Fi networking hardware, which combines a number of Wi-Fi access points and switching in a single device. Sometrics Signs Gaming Site
Los Angeles-based Sometrics, a developer of analytics tools for online game developers, reported recently that it has signed on gaming site Ijji.com as a customer. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Sometrics said that it is optimizing the way that the gaming website presents advertising offers to members, increasing offer-based revenues at Ijji by more than 30 percent. Sometrics is venture backed by Steamboat Ventures, The Mail Room Fund, AT&T, and Greycroft Partners.

Oversee.net Expands in Europe
Los Angeles-based Oversee.net is planning a European expansion, the firm said this week, saying its DomainSponsor domain monetization division is planning to establish operations in Europe during the first quarter of 2010. According to Oversee.net, it has name Joerg Schnermann as General Manager of DomainSponsor Europe as part of the move, and also hired two other executives to cover the area. Stamps.com Targets Volume Shippers
Los Angeles-based Stamp.com is targeting volume parcel shippers today, saying that it will begin offerings its Professional Shipper software without any monthly fees, to all of its customers who ship at least $1500 per month worth of parcels. The software--which it previously charged $34.99 per month for--is used for managing US Postal Service shipments by companies, and integrates with ecommerce software. LeadPoint Snags Sales Exec From LowerMyBills
Los Angeles-based LeadPoint, a venture backed firm operating an online sales lead exchange, said today that it has hired Noah Staitman as Senior Director of Sales at the firm. Staitman joins LeadPoint from LowerMyBills. According to LeadPoint, Staitman was at LowerMyBills/Experian Interactive for eight years, and has also served at LoanWeb.com. Logicube Buys IP Rights From Partner
Chatsworth-based Logicube, a developer of hard drive duplication and electronic forensics products, announced this morning that it has acquired the intellectual property behind its CellDEK technology. The firm had originally co-developed the technology--used to capture data from cell phones, PDAs, and GPS devices--along with Forensic Science Service. Pathway Genomics Adds Executive
San Diego-based Pathway Genomics has added Sidney Stolz as Chief Growth Officer, the firm said this morning. According to Pathway Genomics, Stoltz joins the firm from Healthcare Solutions, where he was Executive Vice President. Stolz has also served at Towers Perrin, UnitedHealth Group, and AdvancedPCS. Pathway Genomics offers genetic ancestry and health testing services, and is venture backed by Edelson Technology Partners, Founders Fund, and Western Technology Investment.

Cohu Adds Board Member
Poway-based Cohu, a provider of IC test equipments for the semiconductor industry, said Monday evening that it has added Steven J. Bilodeau to its board of directors. Bilodeau is Chairman of Standard Microsystems Corporation, and also served at RVSI. He also sits on the boards of Conexant Systems, NuHorizons Electronics, and Gennum Corporation.
