DriveCam Gets $4M In Debt
San Diego-base dDriveCam, which develops systems for monitoring fleet drivers to reduce risky driving, has raised $4M in a debt funding, according to Leader Ventures, the lender in the deal. Leader said the funding came in the form of a term loan. DriveCam is venture backed by Chopra Ventures, Insight Venture Partners, Integral Capital Partners, JMI Equity, Menlo Ventures, the Tech Coast Angels, and Triangle Peak Partners.

Mogreet Hires Sales And Marketing VP
Venice-based Mogreet, which operates a text messaging-based greetings business, said today that it has hired Jay Goss as the firm's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Goss was COO of Numedeon, which operates virtual world Whyville, and also has served at Disney, Reed Elsevier, and UCLA. Mogreet is venture backed by Ascend Venture Group, Black Diamond Ventures, DFJ Frontier and Spyglass Ventures.

M86 Security, Finjan Deal Included $19.25M In Stock
A regulatory filing today by Orange-based web security tool developer M86 Security indicates that the firm has raised or issued $19.245M in stock, in connection with a merger or acquisition--most likely the firm's acquisition of San Jose-based Finjan, a developer of secure web gateway products. The filing indicates the equity was issued on November 2nd, the day before the firm announced that it had acquired Finjan.

Report: Cyber Monday Spending Up 5 Percent
The latest Internet traffic numbers from comScore are out, with the research firm reporting that Cyber Monday sales online reached $887M, up five percent versus a year ago. The firm also found that so far for the November-December 2009 holiday season, $12.26 billion has been spent online, up 3 percent versus the same days last year. comScore, which released the numbers this morning, also reported that Thanksgiving Day sales were up 10% year-to-year, and Black Friday sales were up 11% versus a ye (More info...)

Everbridge Launches Updated Notification App
Los Angeles-based Everbridge, a developer of mass notification services, is jumping into the Web 2.0 world today, saying it has launched a "Web 2.0" platform for emergency notifications. The firm said its new Everbridge SmartGIS for Citizen Alerts is a Web 2.0 service which notifies citizens of emergency incidents, and also incorporates the ability to connect with citizens through user profiles and an interactive map. Morph Labs Takes On Private Clouds
Los Angeles-based Morph Labs, the latest startup of Gluecode Software founder Winston Damarillo, has launched a new product focused on private cloud management, the firm announced today. Morph said it has launched Morph CloudServer, a set of software tools to manage and provision enterprise cloud computing. The firm said the software leverages Amazon's AWS API, and is looking to simplify and accelerate adoption of cloud computing. Networks In Motion Acquired For $170M
Aliso Viejo-based Networks In Motion, a developer of location-based, wireless navigation software, has been acquired for $170M. According to TeleCommunications Systems, a developer of wireless text messaging and E9-1-1 technology, it is in a definitive merger agreement to acquire Networks In Motion in a combinatoin of cash, stock, and promissory notes. Autobytel Ties With Edmunds.com
Irvine-based Autobytel, which operates an online service to collect consumer leads for the automotive industry, reports today that it has entered into a new agreement with Edmunds.com. The companies said the agreement covers the inclusion of inventory-based leads from Edmunds.com web site. The agreement focuses on targeting consumers interesting in specific automobiles. The two companies did not discuss the financial arrangements behind the agreement.

THQ, DreamWorks Animation In Licensing Deals
Agoura Hills-baed THQ has inked a number of new licensing deals with Dreamworks Animation SKG, the firms announced this morning. According tothe two firms, they are in multi-year, multi-property licensing agreements giving THQ exclusive worldwide rights to develop video games based on DreamWorks' Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom; Puss in Boots; and the TV show The Penguins of Madagascar. Buy.com: Cyber Monday Biggest Sales Day Ever
Aliso Viejo-based ecommerce retailer Buy.com said late Tuesday that Cyber Monday was the biggest sales day, ever, for the firm. No details on sales volumes or financial information were given by the company. The biggest prior sales day for the firm was Cyber Monday last year. In particular, Buy.com said it saw a boost from its third party, Buy.com Marketplace.
