TowerJazz Wins Defense Contract
Newport Beach-based semiconductor foundry TowerJazz reported this morning that the firm has been awarded a contract from General Dynamics and the U.S. Air Force. According to TowerJazz, its USA Aerospace and Defense Division will support a contract focused on manufacturing large-die read-out-integrated-circuits (ROIC), which are being used in detectors, sensors, and imaging systems. THQ, WWE, JAKKS In Settlement
Agoura Hills-based video game maker THQ, WWE, and JAKKS Pacific said late Tuesday that the firms have reached a settlement of their legal dispute covering a THQ/JAKKS Pacific joint venture and licensing of WWE video games. According to the three firms, all the claims have been withdrawn and litigation ended among the parties. ViaSat Names President At WildBlue
Carlsbad-based ViaSat announced this morning that it has named Tom Moore as President of its new WildBlue subsidiary. Moore was a co-founder of WildBlue, and was President and CEO of the firm until 2005. ViaSat completed its $568M acquisition of WildBlue, a provider of satellite and wireless communications systems, on December 15th. Moore was most recently Senior Vice President at ViaSat, and also had served at TimesArrow, a telecom and technology venture firm. Moore replaces current WildBlue CE (More info...)

Anacomp MVS Acquired By DecisionOne
San Diego-based IT solutions provider Anacomp has sold its MVS division to Pennsylvania-based DecisionOne, the firms said earlier this week. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to DecisionOne, the buy adds around 200 employees, plus around 700 customers, to the firm. Anacomp's MVS division provides technical support, field service, and maintenance to OEM customers in data centers.
